In this role, you will help advance Vestas' strategic objectives through top-quality internal, organisational, and leadership communications as well as to a more limited degree via media and public relations activities.

Group Marketing, Communications, and Public Affairs (GMCP) is part of the CEO area of responsibility in Vestas. It consists of 65 professionals in Denmark and abroad. The Communications team consists of 10 colleagues responsible for internal and external communications, including media relations. Eight are based in Copenhagen; two, in Aarhus. The team works closely with regionally-based marketing, communications, and public affairs colleagues as well as a full range of internal stakeholders. The communications specialist reports to the Head of Communications, who in turn reports to the Group Senior Vice President for GMCP.

Supporting Group and regional priorities, GMCP's over-arching objectives include:
  • Driving industry-leading Marketing, Communications and Public Affairs initiatives supporting Vestas' commercial priorities.
  • Leading early customer/stakeholder engagement and market-making initiatives through MarComPA activities in key markets.
  • Strengthening Vestas' sales/value proposition via timely, targeted, and tailored market intelligence and value marketing.
  • Positioning Vestas as industry-leader on commercially significant topics, building the Vestas brand to support turbine sales and service order intake.
  • Accelerating Group and regional executive activities/initiatives with top-quality, cross-disciplinary MarComPA efforts.
  • Creating regional empowerment through close collaboration with local markets and global-local partnerships.

In this role, you will help advance Vestas' strategic objectives through top-quality internal, organisational, and leadership communications as well as to a more limited degree via media and public relations activities. You will develop and execute global and cross-functional internal, organisational, and leadership communications initiatives, projects, and/or tools, with primary focus on supporting one or more EVP/Global SVP area (primarily Finance) and a regional Sales Business Unit (primarily Northern Europe). An important part of your responsibilities will include equipping and advising leaders to achieve their business objectives via effective communications thus contributing to consistent, aligned and effectively delivered messaging throughout the organization.

More specifically, with focus on both shorter- and longer-term, larger and sometimes complex cross-functional initiatives and in collaboration with multiple colleagues across the business, you will:
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate impact of internal, organisational, and leadership communications initiatives, activities, projects, processes, and tools supporting integrated commercial, communications, marketing, public affairs, and other campaigns/initiatives.
  • Ensure timely and high quality communications-related advice and support to assigned EVP/Global SVP area(s) and/or regional Sales Business Unit(s) and other colleagues, thus contributing to achieving commercial goals and priorities.
  • Contribute to continuous relationship building with key internal stakeholders via consistently high-quality communications-related products, services, advice, and other support.
  • Where appropriate, support Vestas spokespeople in preparation for, during, and after external speaking/communicating activities, including media interviews.
  • Support Vestas communications colleagues in other parts of the world - on both internal and external communications.
  • Work closely with relevant colleagues to ensure timely and professional communications in connection with crises or other incidents.

  • Minimum eight years experience in positions related to communications, marketing, public relations, or other relevant areas.
  • Superior written and verbal communications skills in English; preferably also Danish and other language(s).
  • Prior substantive professional experience in private sector.

  • Strong interpersonal skills, with excellent ability to collaborate with others and effectively deal with multiple priorities in fast-paced, sometimes unpredictable environment.
  • Strong conceptual thinking with the ability to creatively convert new (or existing) business information into relevant communications messages and products along with strong project management and advising/coaching/training skills.

Additional information
Primary work location: Copenhagen (Copenhagen Towers, Ørestad). Limited travel to be expected: max 20 days per year, mostly to Aarhus and Malmö though travel to other destinations could be required.
