We have worked offshore since the early eighties. In 2003, the group consolidated all their offshore activities into one company, based in Aberdeen. Since then we have quickly established our reputation in the oil & gas industry by providing safe, innovative and cost effective solutions in an increasingly competitive environment.

Building on our traditional values and competencies, we now deliver services focusing on two key areas: Subsea Construction/IRM and Offshore Operational and Maintenance Support.

Currently we are looking to identify a Director of Diving to provide visible leadership and direction for all diving related matters within the business. This role combines a strategic role with ensuring day to day diving operations are carried out to the standards set. Develop a vision for diving, communicated both internally and externally. Ensure stakeholders are regularly updated on developments. Responsible for the global centre of excellence for diving, this role will proactively work to seek continuous improvements to delivery safety through the diving safety work group and engage with industry bodies. Ensure correct measures are in place to manage the department. To take the lead role in any investigation, ensuring all matters are dealt with promptly and there is effective communication with all parties.

Accountability and Key Performance Areas: · Sound knowledge of and adherence to the Business Management System (BMS) framework and governance. · Demonstrate behaviours and attitude which align to and support core values. · Establish, communicate, drive and maintain the group diving standards across the regional offices. Ensure all group diving operations are executed safely, efficiently and are high in quality and in line with diving standards. · Lead and drive customer focus (internal & external). · Direct and lead improvements in diver safety across the group. · Ensure the diving department are up to date and managing all regularly or technical developments in this area. · Ensure appropriate advice is forwarded to operations with regards to: working in new regions, employing new diving techniques and innovation. · Overall responsibility for processes and procedures within the department.

Main Duties and Responsibilities: · Supporting the Leadership Team and/or other Management Forums completing specific focused tasks, to support the continuing improvement in operational excellence and the long term company strategy.

Executive · Active participation in the Limited (BOL) Executive. · Maintaining senior level mutually beneficial relationships with clients and key suppliers. · Represent BOL at Client and Sub-contractor meetings as required. · Maintain a good working relationship and open lines of communications with the business units ensuring they are kept fully appraised of concerns, issues or plans relating to the diving department. · Maintain strong personal profile throughout the diving community – regulatory bodies and clients in particular.

Strategy · Create, develop and implement the Diving Department’s Strategic Vision, ensuring that there is buy in from the business and that key plans, measures and KPI’s are put in place for successful execution.

Diving · Ensure that the highest standard of diving excellence are employed on all Company worksites and ensure all IMCA Guidelines and regulatory requirements are adhered to and met at all times. · Work with relevant regulatory bodies to ensure that the Company maintain and improve their standards in line with industry best practice and client expectations. · Maintain strong working relationships with offshore personnel, providing visible leadership. · Represent the Company at International Marine Contractors Association (IMCA) and other subsea industry meetings, ensuring involvement and influence over future industry developments.

Dive Systems & Equipment · Ensure that the dive systems and associated plant is maintained and certified in line with relevant legislation and industry standards, has sufficient critical spares and is operated safely. · Maintaining the dive system documentation ensuring it meets the required guidelines and is kept up to date at all times, addressing changes to guidelines and standards or modifications undertaken to the systems. · Ensure dive system defects are closed out satisfactorily and within a timely fashion. · Review and assessment of vessel improvement plans and where applicable the implementation of the same with involvement from all key stakeholders.

Personnel · Ensure that the level of guaranteed days contracts are appropriate for the business and that this is actively managed. · Ensure the system for providing feedback on offshore personnel performance is effective and that the Project Personnel / Diving Services arrangement in Singapore are acting on this. · Regular and close interaction with colleagues in Singapore, ensuring employment conditions and any employment issues are managed robustly, Guaranteed Days Contract (GDC) commitments are monitored and achieved and any issues or queries are resolved effectively in a timely manner. · Represent the company at the Offshore Divers Industry Agreement (ODIA) meetings and participate in stakeholder meetings and union negotiations.

Financial · Ensure departmental budgets are managed as appropriate.

General · Any other delegated responsibilities as instructed by Line Management within the timeframe specified, in a safe and efficient manner to meet business requirements, provided the instruction is reasonable and you are capable and deemed competent to fulfil these · Regular domestic and international travel will be expected and required
