Job Overview:

The Domain Architect is accountable to the Service Owner for knowledge, understanding and governance of the end to end IT service and technical architecture that underpins the relevant business unit across core business functions and areas for NNB, Generation, Corporate and Customers.

With 'delivery of operational service' at the core, the post-holder has accountability for ensuring that the architecture is being well maintained by the partners, invested in at the right level and that change from whatever source (BAU or Project) is not putting the service at undue risk.

The Enterprise IT operating environment is complex, meaning that our stakeholders' needs are constantly shifting and evolving, in several dimensions:

  • Supporting a rapidly evolving energy supply market, both in industry and in the home;
  • Supporting the need to move beyond supply, to provide innovative energy services and products;
  • Supporting our existing generation assets through to end of life and beyond;
  • Supporting our new build programme;
  • Meeting our cost targets set by the Executive; and
  • Digitalising the workplace to support ever more efficient ways of working.

    Qualifications & Experience:

  • Wide experience of IT architectures and platforms;
  • Experience of business and systems analysis;
  • Experience of Supplier Management;
  • A degree in a relevant discipline, or equivalent experience;
  • An ITIL/IT Service Management qualification (desired);
  • Qualified to the appropriate level in an Information Systems Examinations Board (ISEB) qualification (desired);
  • PRINCE2 Foundation (desired);
  • TOGAF Accredited (desired).
