About the opportunity

Our Infrastructure and Environment business in Queensland has a solid pipeline of work and we are looking for an Associate Contaminated Land Consultant to join our team based in South Brisbane. Reporting to the Section Leader Environmental Sciences the Associate Contaminated Land Consultant will provide project management and technical experience to the contaminated land capability. You will be required to:

  • Bring market experience and existing client relationships to the Jacobs business and maintain an active role in the maintenance of these relationships with the contaminated land practice and sales team
  • Provide technical strength in contamination assessment and management, both in field and office based assessments (qualitative and quantitative)
  • Have working knowledge of contaminated land legislation in QLD and experience acting as Suitably Qualified Person (SQP) or equivalent in other states
  • Strong project management and technical delivery skills
  • Defence experience is preferable particularly relating to PFAS contamination
  • Possess excellent written communication skills, including report writing and proposal preparation
  • Engage with clients with your well-developed communication skills
  • Undertake tasks to meet budget, quality and timeline requirements
  • Collaborate with the Brisbane and inter-state contaminated land teams

About you

To be considered for this role you will have a degree in science or engineering, with a specific focus on contaminated land experience. Required skills and experience:

  • Strong analytical ability allowing for the effective interpretation of data and observations
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently in the field and to manage field programs including drill logging, sampling and analysis and safety leadership
  • Ability to work effectively in a team
  • A history working with infrastructure projects, oil and gas, mining, contaminated land or defence projects will be considered favourably
  • Bring existing client contacts or a demonstrated ability to develop professional networks
