Project Engineer - Jazan project
Based in Hersham Surrey.
Contract Role: Position 1 of 2

Start Date
o ASAP but latest acceptable start is nominally 3rd Jan 2017
o Working Hrs: Standard hours 37.5
6 month period subject to extension based on performance and project requirement.

The Role
The role requires a flexible individual(s) who is technically confident and is prepared to involve him/herself in a wide of issues and activities ranging through equipment procurement/schedule and expediting/inspection/documentation and project commercial issues. He/she will be expected to undertake activities some of which emerge very quickly and are unplanned and require immediate attention whilst other activities need longer term management and planning.

The individuals are required to be self-starters who can shoulder responsibility and use their own initiative to bring things to a close in a fast moving schedule driven project environment.

o Work will be based out of Hersham office.
o Travel outside of Hersham office will not be regular although there may be some requirement to travel infrequently for one /two day trips within Europe to equipment vendors, so it is expected that the successful person will be prepared to undertake such trips.
o Whilst unlikely, there may be the opportunity/requirement to travel to site (Saudi Arabia - Jazan) and possibly China. Preparedness to travel (particularly to site) will be an advantage although not a requirement.

Reports to: E & P Project Manager

Work Scope
This scope of work is not definitive and may change as the project progresses and new areas arise so it is expected that a high degree of flexibility and self -motivation will be required to successfully undertake this role.
6.1 General

General activities
Close out remaining equipment procurement from a project viewpoint ensuring that technical packages are compiled to enable enquiries/orders can be processed expediently.
Act as a source of guidance for discipline engineers as regards project definition, schedule, construction and other needs.
Work with inspection and expediting to ensure vendor issues are resolved effectively.
Work with Construction, as required, to take over the home based equipment preservation
support activities.
Support shipping with technical support covering schedule/availability/packing and other shipping needs.
Work with the customer as necessary to resolve any customer related issues as delegated by the E&P Project Manager.

Work to manage the close out of any remaining discipline actions/TRPR close out actions.
(Technical Risk Plan Resolution)
Act as a project support to drive procurement of short term Construction requirements.
Work as required with DOC Control to resolve any ACONEX issues and to support Construction Team with ACONEX resolution issues.
Support the Interface Project Manager by acting as a "single point of contact" for project managing individual technical battery limit interfaces as necessary.

Specific Activities
Take ownership and manage the Equipment Preservation Strategy. Support the site based Equipment Preservation Lead with regular communications and technical advice.
Take over ownership of the ABB Motor Rotor removal procedure and associated activities to a successful acceptance by the customer.
Project manage the High Voltage battery limit interface both with the internal AP team and the external party (SEPCO)
Expedite outstanding vendor technical information
Project manage the Diesel Generator order let to Abunayyan Saudi Arabia
Project Manage the HV 230KV Cable order.
In the near term, support the development of site services support control spreadsheet and work with the site team to ensure arrangements are in place to mobilise vendor reps as required.
Support other team projects personnel with managing the control, release and shipment of equipment from storage locations to site.
