You will be a part of ABB Robotics in Västerås. ABB Robotics develops, manufacture and sell industrial robots, control systems, software, application products and complete robot systems. We have manufacturing locations in Sweden, China and USA. In Sweden we are located in Västerås, Olofström, Jönköping and Bredaryd. More than 90 % of our sales goes to export and all the mayor car manufacturers are among our customers. In addition to the vehicle manufacturers and their sub suppliers the general industry (including food and beverages) is a growing segment among the mayor implementers of robot based automation. Welding, machine tending, material handling, grinding, packing and assembly are the most common applications. The sales of robots, applications and systems is done by local ABB entities together with independent system integrators and OEM companies (referred to as our Partners) around the world. In Västerås we are approximately 700 employees and 400 consultants.

At the internal training team at ABB Robotics we are responsible for creating trainings for the organisation on our products and how to sell and service them. We act as the experts in training; both recommending our content providers on suitable training methods and medias and also creating the trainings for the organisation. We constantly try to develop and improve our ways of working and type of trainings we use but we feel that we could improve even more. To be able to do that we want your help. We see that a master thesis including benchmarking against other companies and organisations combined with input from the academic world and the latest research on the subject would be very much valuable for us. Feel free to contact us to discuss more details and if you have any own ideas on the subject.

We are looking for two master students within the areas of e.g. behavioural science, Master of Science, marketing or business. The thesis should respond to 30 ECTS and should be done during the spring semester of 2017. The work will be done partly at our Västerås office, travelling to benchmarking organisations and also at your university.
