Role synopsis
The Accounting Analyst (Reporting) is primarily responsible for executing Management Information (MI). The MI reporting is utilized by GBS and Embedded AR & Credit Teams to manage risk, AR exposure and bad debt as well as to evidence that financial control functions are operating effectively for CET Audits.

The Accounting Analyst also prepares the Quarterly Data Aggregation reporting suite that is submitted to the Global IST & CF Credit Manager which then becomes part of a consolidated Global R&M level report. These reports are utilized by high level leadership within BP to manage risk, AR exposure and bad debt across all of R&M.

The AR&C Accounting Analyst provides guidance on the navigation of the AR&C reports that get published. In addition, the Accounting Analyst is often called upon to provide commentary regarding period to period variances in reported deliverables.

The Accounting Analyst partners with high level business partners in support of reporting and accounting processes such as AR and bad debt reconciliation, system tie-outs, etc. The Accounting Analyst will perform ad-hoc reporting requests originated from the business partners and internal stakeholders that involves data mining from within an ERP system and explain findings.

The Accounting Analyst will be responsible for vetting continuous improvements in relation to the reporting produced through the team lead, as well as streamlining reports and adding value to the deliverable where applicable.

The Accounting Analyst will partner with the team lead and the BAM team to identify, scope and integrate new reporting work from our business partners into the GBS CART team.

Key accountabilities
• Perform Over Credit Limit, Exposure, and Overdue reporting and maintain respective databases
• Deliver Monthly MI (e.g. Control Report, Scorecard, Dashboard, Accounting Close Reports, etc.)
• Generate Quarterly Exposure Aggregation and Supplemental reporting including sources of period-to-period variances
• Lead distribution of ad-hoc requests that are tagged to the reporting team
• Tag for general business communication updates, distribution directly to stakeholder audience
• Key liaison and escalation point of contact for our BPO providers
• Accountable for performing necessary research and analysis and implement reporting changes in alignment with the evolution of our business partners
• Design and create databases for reporting as required
• Build AR/Exposure variance analysis
• Maintain 'Potential Bad Debt Reporting'
• Provide guidance on AR&C report navigation and interpretation, as requested
• Participate in AR&C and GBSA projects, leveraging knowledge and skills to provide relevant insight
• Act as a key contact and represent the GBS with Embedded Credit Teams and third party vendors acting as a subject matter expert on reporting and data aggregation
• Partner with Embedded business teams and GBS stake holders to ensure reporting delivery is most effectively meeting the needs of our customers
• Understand how requested changes to processes will impact reporting and work with the appropriate GBS and embedded teams to ensure delivery requirements are met
• Leverage a deep understanding of end to end AR & Credit processes to lead the monthly and quarterly reporting processes and leads face to face business partner quarterly meetings
• Perform required due diligence to ensure data is accurate prior to submission
• Key reporting contact for internal (internal controls) and external (E&Y) audit inquiries and deliverables
• Assist with tax compliance projects as needed
• Facilitate and maintain process excellence for reporting (SOP/KM,DTP's, Job Aids)
• Drive standardization through continuous improvement methodology within the reporting space

Essential Education
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or IT

Essential experience and job requirements
• Minimum of 3-4 years of experience in Financial or Accounting related reporting
• Experience mining data from advanced ERP systems such as SAP or JDE
• Intermediate skills in Microsoft Excel or Access
• Ability to handle multiple priorities with minimum direction and supervision
• Can deliver on objectives in ambiguous and changing environments
• Self starter, consistently takes initiative
• Strong work ethic and accountability; ability to work within tight deadlines
• Effective organization and time management skills
• Able to define reporting and processes with little direction
• Ability to develop and clearly document processes
• Experience interpreting reporting results and providing analysis
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to clearly articulate results and recommendations to leadership and business partners
