Role synopsis
As part of the drive to enable the Front Office in London, we are looking for an experienced C# developer to help us create a bespoke Deal Blotter for Global Oil business of BP Integrated Supply and Trading.

This role has a reporting line to the Front Office Development Lead.

Key accountabilities
  • Understand, appreciate, and follow the Scrum framework, TDD, and BDD.
  • Contribute to the full SDLC, including analysis, design, development, testing, and maintenance of the system, business processes, data and interfaces.
Be a part of the Scrum team, and help the Product Owner to deliver the product to the Oil Front Office Traders. The development team is cross-functional and includes .NET and Java Developers, Solution Architect, QA Engineer, etc.

Essential experience and job requirements
  • Proven track record of creating and enhancing SOA-based enterprise-level applications using C#
  • Exceptional development skills in C#, WPF, WCF, RX.
  • Experience of using Nuget.
  • Deep understanding and experience of using SOAP
  • Good knowledge of relational database (MS SQL Server, Oracle).
  • Experience of Cruise Control/BuildForge/Hudson/Jenkins/TFS or other continuous build and integration tools.
  • Understanding of threading and concurrent processing.
  • Experience with Unix/Linux

Desirable criteria & qualifications
  • Experience of using restful services
  • Experience of using TFS, solid understanding of release management practices
  • Strong numerical skills ideally with a numerate degree
  • Strong understanding of programming paradigms such as distributed architectures and multi-threaded programme design.
  • Understanding of Java
  • Understanding of distributed transactions.
  • Experience with release automation with tools like BladeLogic
