The Brilliant Factory Engineer will be responsible for identifying and leading advanced manufacturing and digital technology projects in support of the Brilliant Factory journey at the site.

Essential Responsibilities

The Brilliant Factory Engineer will use deep expertise in Lean, advanced manufacturing & digital technologies, and manufacturing IT systems to initiate and drive projects that will deliver breakthrough improvements in safety, quality, delivery, inventory, and productivity. You will work closely with process users to understand waste and opportunities, and then define and lead projects to implement technology that will help. Project selection should focus on those that advance the level of connectivity and operational intelligence through the collection and analysis of data. At the core of the Brilliant Factory idea is the ability to link together design, manufacturing, sourcing, logistics, and service into one cohesive, intelligent system - the digital thread.
In this role, you will:
• Challenge paradigms by applying new technologies to old problems
• Partner with site Lean Leader and Brilliant Factory Leader to target application of new technology
• Identify the tools and information needed to impact plant KPIs
• Mentor plant staff on the Brilliant Factory mindset and technologies available to solve local problems
• Lead and participate in Lean events locally and globally and contribute advanced technology solutions to eliminate waste
• Assist with local integration on global technology programs
• Provide project status and raise awareness of roadblock issues
• Share best practices and examples to the broader supply chain community
• Communicate broader GE Brilliant Factory initiatives to the site, and progress at the site to the broader GE community
• Manage budgets for local projects
• Lead local Brilliant Factory tours for various leadership visits
• Stay connected with other Brilliant Factory Engineers globally
• Continue to grow knowledge by participating in training events, seminars, trade shows, etc.


• Engineering, IT, or computer science Bachelor's degree
• Minimum of 5 years' experience in a manufacturing environment
• Significant shop floor experience (understand the day-to-day realities of a plant)
• Passion for and experience with emerging technology
• Ability and willingness to travel infrequently, as required
• Strong communication skill in Vietnamese and English

Desired Characteristics

• Lean Six Sigma Black Belt and/or Lean Leader certification
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to influence
• Experience leading technology development/integration
• Experience leading a Lean manufacturing transformation
• Experience defining, implementing, and using shop floor IT tools (i.e. MES)
• Experience in the Renewable Energy industry
• Project management experience
• Able to effectively communicate at different functional levels
