We currently have an opportunity for a UK Context Engineer within our Nuclear team based in Bristol with frequent travel overseas to the client office. The successful person will become part of a respected and ambitious company with excellent career prospects and international opportunities. This position is to be offered on a long term secondment basis.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

  • To design and implement changes to the Responsible Designers existing Engineering process to effectively and efficiently comply with nuclear safety related UK requirements (regulations, standards and HSE / ONR expected practices).:
  • Investigate and develop an in-depth understanding of specific nuclear safety related UK Requirements (e.g. NSDAPs, Design Substantiation Reports, Risk Informed Design ...)
  • Design and test an Engineering process solution compatible with Responsible Designer existing processes to demonstrate compliance with a specific UK requirement.
  • Prepare and test the supporting documentation (templates, guidance, training, procedures ...) for the proposed solution and present the complete solution for senior manager global implementation approval.
  • Assist in the training and roll-out of the solution across the relevant departments of the Responsible Designer (in client office).
  • Monitor the success of the implementation and complete a lessons learnt report.
  • Deputise and be accountable for decisions made in the absence of the UK Context Manager


  • Several years experience supporting the nuclear systems or /and equipment on nuclear power stations in the UK
  • Some experience of Process, Mechanical or Civil Engineering on a large complex project outside the nuclear industry would be an advantage
  • Excellent communications skills are paramount for this role, with the ability to identify situations where it is applicable to challenge
  • Experience in Nuclear Safety studies in the UK.


  • Knowledge / Understanding of PWRs would be an advantage
  • Fluent in English, a working level in French would be an advantage
  • Some knowledge of Access & Documentum would be a bonus
