Vestas Global Procurement is overall responsible for all supply chain management activities within Vestas Wind System A/S, including leading cross-functional Category Teams, negotiations, initiatives to improve the total cost, Category strategy development and implementation, quality and delivery performance, supplier relationship management and supplier account management.

The category for which the Purchasing Assistant / Planner is needed is Castings & Mainshaft. This area consists of app 40 main suppliers annualized spend of more than 350 million EUR.

  • You will be responsible to manage communication to Supply Chain Planning for regular updates to plans for the assembly plants and turbine models and presentation into the CMT.
  • You will also lead communication and regular reviews with top suppliers on planning and capacity and assuring correct fulfillment to all Vestas facilities. If needed mitigation plans should be set and aligned with all stakeholders.
  • You will also be responsible for the review of the monthly delivery accuracy reports and communication with the Sourcing Responsible for action plans.
  • You will lead key initiatives in Global Procurement focused on Supply Chain and Value Chain Optimization, working closely with the Category Team and key stakeholders.
  • You will also be responsible to maintain the pattern database.
  • You will become a dedicated part of the Category Team, working across different business units within Vestas and providing input to and implementation of the category strategies.
  • You will also participate in selection, qualification, negotiation and contracting with the assigned suppliers within the category.

Relevant educational background with a degree in either Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Finance/Accounting, Sales/Marketing, Engineering and minimum 3 years of work experience within Strategic Purchasing or Planning

  • You are well-organized, self-motivated professional, result oriented and able to operate successfully in a changing and challenging working environment
  • You have strong communication skills, able to develop good supplier relationship and managing good communication both externally and internally
  • You have an open approach to encourage stakeholder inputs and a highly structured and fact-based approach to secure that ideas are prioritized and implemented
  • You are a team player with strong collaboration skills and able to secure the cross-functional support and bringing the initiatives to successful implementation

Furthermore, we are looking for a profile who has/is:
  • A holistic and positive mindset, able to see the big picture and set strategic direction
  • A strong analytical, structured and fact based mindset
  • Proactive approach and not afraid to look for new solutions and innovative approach
  • Excellent communication skills including fluent English skills (both orally and in writing)
  • Very strong computer skills (PPT, Excel & Word)
