Support projects performing field work for the Navy CLEAN Program and have a hand in transforming tomorrow.

As an Environmental Scientist on the Navy CLEAN Program, you will have the chance to help restore environmentally impaired sites by being a team member to perform field work and technical support on site characterization/remediation projects, feasibility studies and pilot studies. You will also analyze data; prepare reports; and promote safety leadership and accountability.

The minimum qualifications for this position are:
  • BS degree in Environmental, Civil, Chemical or Geotechnical Engineering; Geology; Hydrogeology; Environmental Science; or related environmental field
  • 5 years of experience, preferably on federal CERCLA projects
  • Ability to demonstrate general knowledge of site remediation
  • Ability to demonstrate knowledge and, preferably, experience with various environmental media (soil, groundwater, soil gas, and surface water) investigations; contaminant fate and transport assessments; and design, installation, operation, and maintenance of remediation technologies
  • Ability to learn quickly, analyze problems and assess alternative solutions, and organize multiple responsibilities with an emphasis on quality and reliability
  • Must be able to perform field work and obtain/maintain 40-hr HAZWOPER certification which will require baseline physical and annual medical surveillance
  • Ability to demonstrate willingness and aptitude to lead and perform field work in varying weather conditions

  • Previous work experience on Navy or other federal facilities
  • EM385-1-1 training
  • 7 or more years of environmental field investigation and reporting experience
  • Experience leading field efforts

  • ¬†This role will be primarily working in field on active military bases local to San Diego, therefore local candidates are preferred.
