Each day, you will participate in environmental tasks in site characterization and remediation systems. CH2M is currently looking for an Environmental Engineer based out of our Calgary office.

You should be a self-motivated, team-focused individual who is also able to work independently while reporting results back to intermediate and senior staff. You're apt for hard work and determination will be proven in your willingness to learn; you will also actively participate in a broad range of comprehensive fieldwork initiatives.
Our Environmental Engineers:
  • Expect a diverse, challenging, and rewarding experience on exciting environmental projects.
  • Work in an effective team environment, learning and taking instruction from mid and senior level staff.
  • Help their team problem solve, work on developing contingency plans, and participate in decision making process
  • Are exposed to drilling programs, monitoring well installation, remediation pilot studies, pumping systems, groundwater well profiling, engineering design, remediation design,¬†data assessments and reporting along with various other tasks
  • Utilize data to prepare summaries for inclusion in environmental reports (i.e. data tables, borehole logs, and sampling summaries)
  • Perform investigations under direction from your Project Manager
  • Supervise borehole and monitoring well installations and perform hydraulic testing
  • Execute tasks including atmospheric air monitoring, daily task cards, contractor tailgate meetings
  • Help with engineering calculations, reviewing engineering drawings and identifying issues with construction drawings

The minimum qualifications for this position are:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, etc). Technical Diploma (Environmental/Civil, etc.) may be considered
  • No less than 1 year of previous experience with environmental sampling (soil, groundwater and surface water)
  • Experience with engineering calculations, assisting in preparing and reviewing construction drawings and construction design planning
  • Experience with construction site supervision, as lead or assistant construction manager
  • Familiarity with basic field methods and activity supervision including environmental drilling, surveying, hydraulic testing, soil vapor surveys, health and safety principals, soil and groundwater and other environmental media sampling is an asset
  • Familiarity with BC and Alberta environmental regulations is an asset
  • Good understanding and positive attitude related to Health and Safety
