GE PS engineering is looking for senior engineers with proven track record and experience in power generation plant technologies and O&M experience that are seeking a challenging and rewarding career path leading the Total Plant Solution (TPS) systems engineering team in MEA. This position spans a wide range of OEM and non-OEM technologies across combined cycle gas and thermal power plants requiring deep level of technical knowledge in the centerline and BOP systems.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Lead the systems design of projects , owning all aspects of technical scoping of plant rehab and upgrade opportunities by leveraging the regional and global teams at every step of the process
  • Work closely with other members of theTPS teams in providing sound technical advice on feasibility and technical risks associated with any new project opportunity
  • Work closely with the assessment and performance engineers in understanding and defining the proper technical scope for PS and own the retrofit plan value proposition in front of the customer
  • Support commercial team in creating and capturing value proposition for the customer in wide-scope plant upgrades and rehabilitation
  • Work closely with the performance analytics team thermal models that can be used as baseline for any component or plant upgrade
  • Lead in system design and retrofit offering by working closely with regional and global COEs and product lines
  • Work closely with application engineering team in creating comprehensive technical proposals that include extended scope (BOP) and flange-to-flange upgrades & CM&Us
  • Coordinate upgrade activities with the technical management team and serve as the technical reference point for issue resolution during implementation
  • Collaborate with technical experts in order to contain the risk associated with missing scope or scope creep for TPS business
  • Embrace and drive a culture of horizontal thinking and execution by working in a boundary-less fashion and fostering the early detection of quality issues and risks as well as promoting lean processes that drive fulfillment excellence


  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering
  • At least 10 years of experience in an engineering or technology role
  • Deep technical knowledge in any area of power plant building blocks such as gas turbines, HRSGs, steam turbines, boilers,generators, and Balance of plant
  • Extensive experience with power plant design and upgrades, including system analysis and testing
  • Ability to lead in a matrix organization with regional and global footprint
  • High technical skills mixed with strong business acumen and influencing skills to lead and execute in high risk projects
  • Mobility within MEA is a must

Desired Characteristics

  • Advanced Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
  • Experience managing complex projects in a multi-disciplinary approach
  • Experience in any discipline related to plant operation, maintenance, design, or retrofit
  • Program management experience
  • Strong oral and written English communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Problem analysis and resolution skills
  • Fluency in Arabic language is a plus
