Under direct guidance, entry level professional position independently evaluates, selects, and applies standard techniques and procedures while using judgment when making adaptations and modifications. Assignments have clear and specific objectives and require investigation of limited number of variables. Receives instruction on specific assignment objectives, complex features, and possible solutions. Performs work involving conventional plans, investigations, surveys, structures, or equipment with relatively few complex features for which there are few precedents. Job may include other misc duties as assigned.

Specific responsibilities: This position will be mainly tasked to maintain the Critical operations systems within Port Everglades Plant - among several other systems, applications and tools used in the day-to-day reliable operations of the bulk electric system (BES).This position is expected to:

  • Provide full-time technical support to the operations and business unit personnel.
  • Establish, document and maintain task activities , procedures, and guidelines related to critical systems and the day-to-day operational support provided to the operations and business unit personnel.
  • Perform system testing and compile documentation for Critical systems during significant changes and/or upgrade. Support request of data and lead as SME during NERC CIP Standards audits.
  • Adhere to all requirements of the NERC CIP Standards requirements as they apply to the position's job description and accountabilities.
  • Analyze and identify the root cause of and implement comprehensive technical solutions to complex application deficiencies and system issues.
  • Provide technical leadership in the functional specification, design and implementation of new as well as enhancements to existing security center applications and tools.
  • Develop new and improve existing processes with goal of increasing productivity, reducing risk of system failure, promoting efficiency in work flow, and meeting or exceeding the key operational performance targets.

Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in related field or 0-2 years relevant duties experience.

Additional desired qualifications:

  • Bachelor' Degree in Engineering (Electrical, Computer), Computer Science, Management of Information systems and/or related fields
  • Proficient understanding of the NERC Reliability Standards, with emphasis on Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP)
  • Experience in networks, security software applications, monitoring, troubleshooting and Analysis.
  • Proficient in computer operating systems, technical documentation process and gathering of auditing documentation.
  • Demonstrates competence in analyzing and solving highly complex system / application-related problems within a reasonable amount of time
