Parts & Repair Business Development Specialist

Department Description
The Parts & Repair Business Development Specialist is responsible for (1) growing the Parts & Repair business area and for maximizing the total customer share of wallet of service accounts (i.e. cross-selling), (2) making sure that Vestas meets the Parts & Repair Sales targets (volume and revenue) at all times - in the Area/Segment/Accounts and cross-border (e.g. for Key Accounts), and (3) supporting Account Managers growing revenue and contribution margin within the designated business areas (Parts & Repair). The purpose of this position is also to (1) develop relationships with prioritized customers in the Area/Segment/Accounts for securing Parts & Repair Sales in the long term and increasing Vestas' Parts & Repair "share of wallet" with these customers, (2) to secure customer loyalty by providing customers in the region with optimal support and professionalism in Parts & Repair by supporting the hand-over to the Service function through communication and coordination, and (3) to work closely with Global Service Sales and Director Service Sales & Account Management on Parts & Repair strategy.

  • Business Development professional will lead front-end assessment of business opportunities leveraging Vestas Service team and its network of colleagues globally to provide service solutions.
  • Duties include building strategy to ensure Vestas meets Parts & Repair FOI, Revenue and CM targets.
  • Structures deals with the full breadth of Vestas in mind to understand and support the organizational linkages and impacts.
  • Accountable for product line leadership and collaborates cross-functionally with colleagues to drive successfully transactions.
  • Develops service sales strategy and negotiates sound business deals with customers in accordance with company standards.
  • Prepares strategy, negotiation plans, and sales strategies for Parts & Repair. Maintains regular, proactive communications, via face-to-face meetings, telephone and email with customers and sales management.
  • Remains current on regulations and industry trends which affect service offerings and turbine sales for North America and target markets Proactively drives solutions to offset risks of meeting plans and supporting customer needs.
  • Strong participation in marketing activities including trade show and conference attendance and product marketing development.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Sales or Marketing. MBA degree preferred.
  • 3-5 years experience with 1 - 2 of the following skill sets as they relate to Sales: technical sales, commercial customer communications, contract negotiation, or legal knowledge.
  • Demonstrated success in the negotiation and closing of complex and/or long-cycle larger cap-ex agreements where long term partnering is crucial to success.
  • Demonstrated success in understanding commercial terms, and negotiation strategy, balancing business profitability and customer needs.
  • Understanding of how to manage customer accounts and support team selling. Demonstrated aptitude to identify business opportunities and initiate customer contact including "cold calling."
