The role of Strategic Buyer calls for finely honed legal skills, particularly when it comes to reviewing and approving contractual agreements with suppliers or advising our purchasing department on issues relating to contract management and contract law. Working in a team-based environment, you will closely monitor developments within the global utilities market and ensure that the medium- and long-term supply chain is capable of supporting our product development efforts. - Review and define contracts, in addition to drawing up and incorporating existing and new purchasing requirements
- Develop and implement strategies for new products and product development projects in the context of active sourcing of commodities
- Contribute to projects aimed at product improvement, lead price negotiations, and draft and negotiate contractual agreements
- Spearhead systematic reduction of costs relating to materials (e.g., by means of annual price negotiations) and ensure that specified processes and delivery times are observed in full
- Closely monitor claims management
- Instruct operational buyers and define methods to draw up forecasts, optimize capital structures, and safeguard availability of materials
- Control and manage business communications with suppliers, Global Business Service Center, Research and Development, and Product Development

- Solid degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemistry, or similar - complemented by advanced training in Law
- Several years of work experience in the management of interdisciplinary projects relating to international strategic procurement
- Knowledge of international law, contract management, commercial risk management, and claims management
- Expertise relating to procurement in developing markets, quality inspections, and supplier assessment
- Proficiency in use of SAP as well as MRP and ERP systems desirable
- Fluent command of German and English, both written and spoken; additional foreign language skills considered advantageous
