Do you have strong technical project management skills? Are you motivated by a broad interface with many different stakeholders? Would you like to play a key role in Vestas, Tower Engineering being responsible for successful execution of our projects? We are looking for an experienced Technical Lead with strong project managements skills and a solid technical background.

Technology & Service Solutions /Rotor, Towers & Control/Tower Engineering/ Towers & Foundation LCS
Tower Engineering in Technology & Service Solutions (TSS) is maintaining and developing the complete Vestas tower program. The tasks range from structural engineering over highly specialized FEM calculations, requirements specifications, DFMEA, test planning and execution to risk assessments and compilation of certification documentation.
Tower & Foundation LCS is a sub-department of Tower Engineering. The department is responsible for design and certification of standard gravity foundations as well as alternative foundation concepts. The department is also responsible for design and certification of standard and alternative tower concepts and offshore towers.

Focus is on securing sound, cost-optimized and production friendly solutions and at the same time fulfilling the overall requirements to safety and functionality for the products.
The team is located at 4 different sites: Aarhus and Lem in Denmark, Hamburg, Germany and Chennai in India. The team consists of 15 highly skilled engineers with background in mechanical and civil engineering.

The responsibilities as Technical Lead are to run projects in our gate model in an interdisciplinary field of engineering. We are responsible for design and analysis from the early concept study for new turbines to the final specification for production.

Your primary responsibility will be driving our projects , in particular:
  • Plan work package execution together with development team
  • Plan the scope and resources for the projects in cooperation with project manager
  • Deliver the technical solution within quality, time and cost targets of the project
  • Prioritize the technical team's tasks based on the calculated impact to project targets
  • Identify and mitigate technical risks within the project scope
  • Lead technical reviews
  • Secure technical decision making to get the needed progress in the projects
  • Manage and align project challenges with stakeholders
  • Provide feedback and challenge design solutions to interfacing systems in order to optimize product design

  • Bachelor or Master's degree in Structural, Mechanical or Civil Engineering.
  • Project management skills are a clear advantage.

  • Experienced in executing large projects with multiple stakeholders.
  • Focus on the project scope and able to understand the impact a scope change will have on the project
  • Flair for and interest in stakeholder management including coordination, planning and reporting
  • Technical leadership, and understanding the business and value chain.
  • Knowledge about design engineering.

  • Open-minded and good at sharing and gathering information within team and stakeholders
