Position Description:
Saudi Aramco's Utilities and Technical Support Department is seeking an experienced Fire Alarm and Protection Design Engineer to design fire alarms and Suppression systems that align with the company's safety policies and procedures.
Working directly within a team of professionals, , you will be designing fire systems using the latest technologies. This opportunity is located in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia, and all relocation costs will be provided by the company.
Minimum Requirements:
B.S. in Electronics Engineering or Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering with an emphasis in fire detection/alarm or suppression engineering.
Certified Fire Protection Engineer and Professional Engineer (PE) is a must.
Total of fifteen (15) years of professional experience with a minimum of five (5) years of experience in fire alarm and fire suppression design.
Fluent in written and spoken English.
Thorough knowledge of engineering practices, calculation methods, U.S./BS design codes and standards; extensive experience using U.S. design codes preferred.
Thorough knowledge of National Electric Codes, National Fire Protection Association, and other U.S. or European codes.
Professional attitude.

Perform the function of Fire Alarm and Protection design including production of construction documents related to commercial, institutional, residential and office facilities.
Assess projects, identify design requirements and prepare necessary design calculations using hand calculations and uses computer to run standard programs in order to solve engineering problems as required.
Prepare design packages for fire systems including preparation of design drawings, scopes of work and technical specifications.
Resolve Fire protection engineering issues by applying accepted principles, codes and standards
Candidate will be required to certify design drawings as part of his function.
Coordinates schedules and delegates work as required for design preparation, processes, reports, correspondence, and related information; prepares approvals for all report plans.
Ensures efficiency and policy compliance for all project objectives.
Analyzes and evaluates all data related to the assignment and uses it to develop project scope, long-term planning, budgetary considerations, and other related project factors.
Estimates costs, prepares justifications, and completes expenditure requests as required.
Supports project execution and proposals and makes decisions about existing facilities and standardization within specific fields.
Coordinates with Aramco personnel and subsidiaries and acts as technical consultant.
Leads implementation and operation of recommended solutions.
Other related duties as assigned.
