Role synopsis
We work within a Team based environment to provide both our internal and external customer's with value added products and services. We will accomplish this goal by operating and maintaining our plant work areas and equipment in superior condition and by providing the highest quality products possible. We will work in a Safe and Efficient manner.

This Maintenance Technician will utilize existing knowledge and experience and apply a variety of skills to maintain, service, and repair equipment, facilities, and buildings used to produce lubricants
The position provides technical expertise and support to the operating departments within the Baltimore operation in the areas of HSSE, engineering and maintenance systems

The Maintenance Technician will oversee the safe execution of the department day to day work activities to assure compliance towards all processes amongst the team, also ensures the daily schedule requirements are safely met and will be the departments SME towards initial problem solving .

Key accountabilities
. Must be willing to work within a TEAM environment and to work within a team.
  • This includes willingness to move to support and help all Team partners in their daily job duties.
  • Assist Maintenance techs with repairs on the assigned equipment
  • Mentor other team members
  • Move on a temporary/permanent basis to other departments as required
2. Provide mechanical and technical support for plant building, grounds and equipment including equipment components that supports plant operations
3. Perform predictive and preventative maintenance, emergency break downs and new equipment installations
4. Maintain the company's equipment and materials in a neat, clean, and orderly fashion. Maintain a neat, clean, and orderly work area
5. Perform predictive and preventative maintenance, emergency break downs and new equipment installations
6. Operate all equipment in a safe and efficient manner following prescribed work methods (including forklift and aerial lifts). Conduct operations in a manner that promotes safety. Comply with BP OSHA standards.
•7. Assists Engineering Manager with the construction safety management including issuing permits, and monitoring of all external contractors performing mechanical, piping instrumentation and/or electrical work onsite.

Essential Education
- A minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent.

Essential experience and job requirements
  • Must be able to work within a TEAM based environment. Must believe and be able to demonstrate "Team Before Me".
  • Must be able to work unsupervised and possess a "Can Do" way of thinking.
  • Must have basic understanding of computer programs (i.e. E-mail, Data Entry, Document Review)
  • Must have acceptable oral and written communication skills. Must have excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Must be able to work a flex work schedule as needed and able to manage well within a changing environment.
  • Must be multi-task oriented and able to understand the business needs.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in the mechanical/electrical/instrumentation trade.
  • Must have capability to read blueprints, install electrical components, work closely with engineers, plan jobs and supervise jobs.
  • Journeyman Electrician license or Instrumentation certification
  • Experience with preventive maintenance systems including upgrades to wiring, conduit and electrical control systems.
  • Ability to test or repair/troubleshoot electrical based equipment with test equipment like volt/ohmnmeters and oscilloscopes.
  • Familiarity with the NFPA 70 and NEC codes.

Desirable criteria & qualifications
  • Mechanical skills, aptitude and the capabilities to perform mechanical work.
  • Experience in operating production equipment in a fast paced environment.
  • Working knowledge of boiler and pump maintenance
  • Electrician/Instrumentation certification preferred
  • Able to operate forklift, manlift, and other basic equipment
  • Financial knowledge to assure compliance to the budget
  • Professional certifications (electrical/welding, etc)
  • Secondary education.
  • Professional certifications in Electrical/Welding.
