SUMMARY Operates a retail facility by providing "4-Step" customer service, while accurately transacting sales of fuel and merchandise. Maintains clean and safe work premises, in accordance with Company and statutory standards. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS • Provides top quality service, including the "4-Step" service, at all times and to every customer in accordance with company standards and training. • Conducts sales transactions accurately and quickly. Enters all transactions into register, accepts payment, and accounts for all funds. • Performs daily station cleaning according to CORE schedules; stocks and merchandises as instructed by management. • Takes measures to preserve the safety of self, fellow employees and all others in the work location. ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES • Compliance with wage and hour laws by using the time-clock to record hours worked, as well as, taking meal periods and rest breaks as required by law and Company policy. • Secures all funds in safe or register. Makes timely drops and maintains cash drawer at or below maximum level. • Reviews and checks customer credit cards strictly following Company policies and procedures. Obtains electronic or telephone authorization for all charges. Mechanically imprints all manually entered cards. • Takes reasonable precautions and measures to protect company assets. • Understands, complies, and supports all processes and procedures as they are implemented. • Reports all incidents to management. Fills out appropriate forms as needed. • Based on location: prepares food and drinks; cleans, stocks and maintains food prep area in compliance with health codes. • Performs other duties, as assigned. JOB SPECIFICATIONS Skills and Experience Required: • Ability to read, write, and speak English. • Ability to work unsupervised in a fast-paced environment. • Arithmetic skills to an eighth grade level. • Appropriate handling of emergency situations. • Strong interest in customer service. • Must possess required up to date certificates, as required by law, for food handling in specified locations. Preferred: • Previous cash handling and customer service experience. • Previous retail experience. • Positive, out-going personality. PHYSICAL DEMANDS • Frequent bending, twisting, and lifting at least 20 lbs. in narrow spaces. • Working unaccompanied, standing, and without defined break periods. Occasionally working extended shifts of 12 hours or more, as assigned. • Heavy cleaning with strong chemicals. • Spoken, and telephone interaction with office and station personnel, contractors and vendors, and corporate personnel. • Periodic exposure to all outdoor conditions at all times of day. • Occasional exposure to prolonged periods in walk-in coolers at 34 ° F. • May also experience extreme hot temperatures when operating store equipment. STANDARDS • Reliable, punctual, and ethical. Available for work on all shifts, as assigned. • Well-organized approach to work and maintenance of work areas. • Courteous, business-like contact with co-workers, customers, vendors, and community at large. • Neat appearance and good personal hygiene in compliance with company image standards. • Must conduct themselves at all times, in accordance with the CSI Code of Conduct.
