Leads projects & initiatives with broad scope & high impact to the GE power Business covering coal power plants & Systems. Responsible for successful execution of major & complex assignments with long-term business implications. Required to leverage Power Plant knowledge & becomes Solutions architect for Coal power plant integrated systems offerings of solutions, complex projects in the areas of specific customer needs including efficiency improvement, emissions, flexibility, reliability.

Essential Responsibilities

• Is recognized as a technical expert in Coal Power Plant equipment and systems so as to provide consultation to management, all the design organizations, and supplier organizations. Drive thought leadership in their field in the market.
• As a solution architect, defines the best possible and competitive technical solution for customer needs, works with commercial and business teams all through market creation, inquiry, order and implementation phase
• Responsible for bid Proposal Technical document, Technical risk assessment, plant guarantees and risk mitigation from system point of view for complex proposals
• Continuously remains cognizant of state-of-the-art in the area of design, manufacture and services of coal based power technology
• Supports the Chief Engineer's Office in the execution of technical goals of the office
• Work closely with the Chief Consulting Engineers to identify the technical risks and mitigate them
• Provide technical leadership in design reviews, industrial committees, and design boards as necessary in the plant level design as well as for various equipment such as boilers, turbo-generators, air quality control systems, steam turbines, coal mills, heat exchangers, etc.
• Enhances technical excellence in engineering organizations through effective mentoring
• Contributes to identify and recommend where improvements in knowledge of the steam power systems and sub-systems are needed and translate to technical training requirements
• Contributes to the technology advancements in the steam power systems domain, translates the customer and industry needs into technology development
• Leads or supports study teams to address top problems within the organization
• Familiarity with steam power plant control systems and optimization of plant level performance, operability, reliability and maintainability parameters will be an added advantage
• Able to interface with customers at all levels and drive technical solutions for the integrated systems
• Has deep domain expertise in one of the coal fired power plant equipment/systems i.e ST/Turbine cycle, Boiler, Air Quality Control Systems, Balance of Plant, Plant Controls or Digital and leverages the same to provide system level solutions and trade-offs


• Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, or Computer Science
• At least 10 + years (Principle Engineer) or 15+ years (for Consulting Engineer) additional years of experience in an engineering capacity
• Coal fired power plant systems level experience, expertise
