The Steam Turbine Requisition Engineer (STRE) will work closely with cross functional teams (Steam Turbine Design, Manufacturing, Sourcing, Application Engineering, M&C, Project Management, etc) to manage execution of steam turbine CM&U projects (or other activities as deemed necessary to support business needs). The STRE's responsibilities will include managing key project deliverables, engineering hours, manufacturing deliverables, scope changes, etc.

Essential Responsibilities

- Serve as primary lead in management and tracking steam turbine (ST) change modifications & upgrades (CMU) Projects and serve as the voice of the customer to the engineering organizations.
- Manage and coordinate project schedules to maintain on-time deliverables and engineering hour budgets
- Support Inquire To Remittance (ITR) functions from definition of required engineering support and cycle in proposal phase to detailed execution management and tracking during detailed design phase.
- Work with Application Engineers and other Engineering functions in support of Technical Readiness Reviews for order conversions.
Provide feedback to Inquire To Order (ITO) team via Lessons Learned from previous projects and experience.
- Coordinate and lead customer meetings including Order definition meeting, Customer Design Review, etc. for converted projects.
- Manage, track and complete PLM tasks on time for assigned projects.
- Manage and track Bill of Material, part line creation, part definition and ordering for CMU projects
- Support installation activities and related technical issues from the field for a given project.
- Support any other ITR functions in which Requisition Engineering input is required.
- Ensure identified project risks are documented in handoff documentation and communicated to execution teams.
- Work closely with Manufacturing functions to ensure critical manufacturing deliverables are met.
- Support Productivity, Simplification and Cost-Out initiatives

- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or or any other related engineering degree from an
accredited university or college.
- 8 years of related engineering experience
- 4 years of related steam turbine experience
- Proven experience in Alstom Steam Turbine technology
- Ability to work well with teams and communicate requests and requirements clearly
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Capable of coaching others to accomplish assignments
- Demonstrated interpersonal and leadership experience
- Demonstrated ability in establishing common goals and objectives
- Demonstrated ability in influencing and shaping team's long term vision and strategy

Desired Characteristics

- Strong understanding of Mechanical and Thermodynamic concepts
- Self-starter with initiative and interpersonal skills to direct projects and work of cross- functional
nature, with demonstrated ability to provide technical support necessary to drive projects to
- Experience in Alstom steam turbine design and manufacturing
- Alstom Steam turbine field experience and issue resolution
- Working knowledge of steam turbine maintenance & inspection methods and repair solutions
- Advanced Engineering Degree
- Strong critical thinking, analytical and problem solving skills
- Understands GE's products, capabilities and limitations in sufficient detail to manage Steam Turbine CM&U projects
- Desire to go above and beyond basic day-to-day responsibilities
- Ability and willingness to travel up to 20% on short notice
