Looking for candidates for Gas Turbine Legacy Alstom Application & Requisition Engineering.

Essential Responsibilities

The Gas Turbine Legacy Alstom Application & Requisition Sr Engineer will be responsible for supporting Services Engineering in a readiness to serve capacity to facilitate mitigation of emergent issues coming from GE and Non GE fleet equipment. In this role, the Sr Engineer will coordinate with various teams to engineer and develop proposals, provide support to site execution team and act as a liaison for engineering questions that enable safe and productive mitigation of emergent issues.

As the Gas Turbine Legacy Alstom Application & Requisition Sr Engineer, you will:
For ITO Support (Tendering). Service/Repair/Solution Package
• Expedited On site Visit - Travel to customer sites in Latin America in order to quickly assess the technical problem and pull other engineering resources as required.
• First Scope Definition - Identify general scope elements in order to provide it as input for the tendering engineering process.
• Fast on-site solution - Understand Standard Fast on-site solutions pre-designed by GE in order to present to customer while on site in local language (Towards reducing plant down time).
• Factual findings - Identify first findings key to develop technical proposal in order to communicate to GE organization appropriately
• Sense of Urgency - Provide support as liaison engineer during tendering process between region and global P&L Engineering Structure.
• Lead a customer solution - Communicate it to all levels of the organization and external customers. This includes Risk call participation, proposal review and cost margin report review to minimize scope cost and maximize business margin for the organization.
• Communicate effectively - with HQ Application Engineering and update the regional commercial teams on new products and offerings as they become available.
• Technology knowledge - Legacy Alstom Heavy Duty Gas Turbine Operation & Maintenance knowledge for GT11 / GT24 units but not limited to; expected to expand to Controls & Accessories as well, with technical support from core engineering teams.
• Generate CM&U opportunities by evaluating current plant performance and customer issues including proposal documents and BOMs for GT CMU offerings
• Develop the "engineer-to engineer" relationship with strategic customers as identified by the Commercial teams.
• Design the customer solution package and provide technical promotion with support from HQ AE team.
• Communicates strategic plan and progress of resolution to all levels of the organization
• Travel to customer locations to support technical meetings

For OTR Support. During project execution
• Engineering Project Management. Provide local engineering support to Local Service Shops in the region according to the scope defined for the specific contract.
• Liaison for Engineering Requests (ER's) to Product Line/Product Services/Plant Support Center. Serve as liaison engineer for technical operational support in the region between site/shop and Global Product Line engineering organization. Local support to expedite Root Cause Analysis.
• Provide technical coordination for conversions, modifications, and uprates on in-service Gas Turbines, including unit relocations for Legacy Alstom units
• Provide wing to wing support for proposals and projects from inquiry to remittance (ITR)
• Develop and monitor engineering project schedules
• Coordinate scheduled with customer requirements through Project Managers & CS Customer Performance Managers
• Communicate project scope to Engineering / Manufacturing / Sourcing / Field Service / Service Shop Personnel
• Provide technical support for major Legacy Alstom Gas Turbine rebuild/repair/modification projects
• Provide technical assistance to field service personnel during Project Installation
• Promote, participate in and lead process improvement projects
• Ensure timely completion of all project objectives

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Aeronautical Engineering or any other related engineering degree from an accredited university or college with minimum of 8 years of professional experience valuable for the position.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in repair engineering, field engineering, product service, power generation product engineering or related functions within the power generation industry
• Proven experience in Legacy Alstom Gas Turbine technology
• Ability and willingness to travel up to 30% of the time to customer sites and GE Shops to enable work execution
• Effective written and oral communication skills in English and Spanish
• Must be able to maintain a normal day-to-day fluid conversation on any topic with very few language mistakes (mistakes that will not affect getting the message through). Must have fluency and rhythm and sufficient self-confidence in the language to be able to handle meetings and conversations.
• Presentation Skills: ability to communicate with Senior Leadership and external customers
• Green Belt certification within 1 year of hire date / Green Belt certified (GE Applicants)
• Demonstrated ability in managing projects across functions.
• Capable of coaching others to accomplish assignments.
• Demonstrated ability in establishing common goals and objectives
• Demonstrated ability in influencing and shaping team's long term vision and strategy

Desired Characteristics

• MSc Degree Turbomachinery, Thermal Plants, Thermodynamics or any other Masters from accredited university related to Gas Turbine technology
• Wide experience in GE & Alstom Gas Turbine Technology
• Domain expertise in power services and equipment for Legacy Alstom Gas Turbines, and Gas Turbine Accessories Systems and Controls
• Demonstrated ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams
• Strong communication skills & confidence with executive presentations; ability to communicate with colleagues & customers at all levels
• Strong technical aptitude, including applicable engineering tools and systems
• Strong interpersonal and leadership skills that can energize teams through inclusiveness and connection with people; possesses strong team building skills to promote positive morale
• Understands business objectives and drives specific tasks required to meet the objectives
• Knowledge and understanding of GE's and competitors products' capabilities and limitations in sufficient detail to be able to develop offerings that meet internal and external customer needs

• Black Belt / Green Belt Certified or equivalent quality certification
• GE Edison Engineering Development Program (EEDP), Operations Management Leadership Program (OML), or other leadership program graduate (GE Employees only)
• Strong Analytical skills and technical aptitude
• Self-starter with initiative and interpersonal skills to lead projects, of cross- functional nature, with demonstrated ability to completion and closure
