The Electro - Mechanical Maintenance Technician safely and independently performs preventive, routine and reactive maintenance tasks. This role is at Metem, a GE Power business. Metem offers cooling hole technologies in the power generation and aerospace industries to increase engine efficiency. Essential Responsibilities

As the Electro - Mechanical Maintenance Technician, you will:
  • Repair, assemble and install components for hydraulic systems
  • Maintain and overhaul hydraulics and related components
  • Read and interpret equipment manuals, mechanical and electrical schematics, and other specifications to determine the repair method on failed components
  • Replace or repair defective components, using hand tools, gauges, and testing equipment
  • Assemble and install electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and hydraulic equipment using hand or power tools
  • Rebuild install and align pump assemblies utilizing safe rigging methods using hand or power tools
  • Execute preventative maintenance and troubleshooting
  • Ability to make field repairs on centrifugal and diaphragm pumps
  • Perform electrical, electronic, mechanical, hydraulic system inspections following established procedures or other written or verbal instructions
  • Calibrate control units on C.N.C., E.C.M. and E.D.M. machines
  • Report unusual problems or conditions to supervisor
  • Observe company safety rules and regulations
  • Perform, as assigned, other similar or related duties


  • Associate's Degree in Electrical Power Technology
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Ability and willingness to work overtime, as required
  • Ability and willingness to obey all safety rules including wearing personal protective equipment such as steel-toe shoes, safety glasses, and hearing protection in designated area
  • Must qualify for and utilize specialized personal protective equipment as required for the position including arc flash and fall protection

Desired Characteristics

  • Knowledge of electronic and electrical principles and strong technical capabilities with hands-on approach
  • Proficiency in hydraulics, pneumatics, pumps and industrial motor controls
  • Ability to troubleshoot, repair and construct electrical/electronic control systems
  • Clear written and verbal communication
  • Drive and operate material handling equipment forklifts
  • Experience with PLC, CNC and other electronic controls
