Provide technical leadership in all aspects of servicing mechanical components used for critical applications in aerospace/rocket testing facilities. Must be able to independently create and/or review requirements for components and subsystems, troubleshoot and analyze problems, and design solutions for use in particular fluids and types of service. Work with other engineers and skilled technicians in designing or recommending design solutions for planned new systems; evaluate components and materials for use in particular applications; investigate problems or issues with existing components and provide recommendations for solutions. Use knowledge of pressure vessels and piping to solve complex technical issues. Experience with Hypergols and/or Cryogenics is a plus. Lead teams of diverse talents in accomplishment of technical tasks.B.S., M.S., or PhD in Mechanical, Aerospace, or similar engineering discipline, from an ABET-accredited engineering program, plus 3-5 years of relevant engineering experience. Advanced degree or additional education above a B.S. degree may be substituted for years of experience. Must have strong skills and knowledge in analysis, design, selection and/or servicing of mechanical materials, components and subsystems, such as valves, regulators, flex hoses and gauges, in high pressure and/or cryogenic systems used for hazardous fluids, including fuels and oxidizers. Experience in aerospace facilities is strongly desired. This position is open to those with greater than 5 years of experience. Must be about to obtain a National Agency Check with Inquiry (NACI)/Security Clearance, as required. Proof of U.S. Citizenship is required.

Urgency of punctuality and regular attendance - 100%; Overtime; some overtime probable, regular and off days.

Other Essential Functions

Must be able to communicate effectively (verbal and written) with personnel at various levels of the organization as well as the client. Must be able to understand and follow instructions. Grooming and dress must be appropriate for the position and must not impose a safety risk/hazard to the employee or others. Must possess or be capable of obtaining and retaining a Secret/National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI). Must have a valid CA driver's license and must be able to provide proof of U.S. citizenship.
