We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Mechanical Engineer.  In this position, a Mechanical Engineer can expect to be responsible for the following:
  • Providing technical support and leadership supporting the maintenance, repair, upgrading, and troubleshooting of tooling used to perform NDE inspections at commercial nuclear power plants.
  • Work with engineers and technicians to create preventative maintenance plans for tooling and implement those plans in SAP PM.
  • Implementation of work order based equipment maintenance process and notifications in order to identify trends and needed changes to equipment design or maintenance plans to increase equipment reliability and/or reduce maintenance costs.
  • Actively participate and lead, as appropriate, SAP PM Implementation and data master improvement process
  • Lead reliability improvement efforts around specific equipment and processes.
  • Analyze operation and failure data for creation of maintenance strategies as necessary.
  • Provide leadership to drive the institutionalization of reliability improvement initiatives.
  • Demonstrated success working in a team environment and effectively communicating across all levels of personnel
  • Knowledge of statistics and experience using statistical packages for analyzing data related to equipment performance.
  • Interfacing with technical leads, project managers, and technicians in the coordination of activities associated with assigned work scope, as required.
  • Plan and schedule work to meet assignment requirements within scheduler and budgetary requirements.
  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of assigned tasks.  Ensuring compliance with design process procedures.
  • Traveling to customer sites to provide engineering oversight, as a member of a crew performing NDE inspections or to aid in resolution of issues with equipment or services.

Job Requirements
The successful candidate for this position will possess the following:
  • BS Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related Engineering Discipline or recognized equivalent required.
  • 3 years applicable experience required.
  • Ability to travel up to 40% especially during outage season
  • Experience in SAP PM preventative maintenance implementation.
  • Experience in reliability engineering.
  • Knowledge about robotics, multi-axis scanners and control systems is desirable.
  • The incumbent must possess analytical skills, critical thinking, a passion for attention to details and excellent communication skills including technical writing.
  • Must be fluent with the Microsoft office suite of products including; Microsoft Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint, etc.
  • Candidate must be able to obtain and maintain unescorted access in commercial nuclear power facilities.
  • Candidate must be a United States Citizen.
  • Physical requirements will include: lifting 50 lbs., Bending and twisting, Standing or sitting for long periods of time, walking, climbing ladders, scaffolding, pipes, exposed to elements such as noise, heat/cold and oil.  Occupational radiation exposure.
