Deputy Manager - Sales

The Sales Deputy Manager Support to achieve local order intake targets (MW volume, order value and contribution margin). Ensure best value engineering / value selling solutions and Develop customers in the allocated/target market segment in order to secure long term sales and increasing Vestas' "share of wallet" with these customers
Identify and pursue supply and service sales opportunities in the India market. Lead the sales process for those projects assigned by Sales Manager. Secure customer loyalty by providing customers with optimal support and professionalism in the sales phase and by continuing support of the customer relationship through project construction and service phases. Originate and develop sales solutions that enhance project value and thus benefit Vestas profitability as well as providing customer benefits.

  • Pro-actively form and maintain strong customer relationships
  • Understand and maintain the Vestas sales process and sales opportunity database ("CRM")
  • Assess potential technical sales solutions to meet required customer scope and site conditions
  • Screen and evaluate sales opportunities including undertaking simulations of project economics .
  • Lead the internal sales process, co-ordinating internal specialist functional inputs to develop specification of technical, commercial and legal solutions involving wind farm supply and service.
  • Manage internal cost model for project solutions. Ensure best value engineering / value selling
  • Develop professional "bid "package" and other submissions to the customer
  • Support the process of project negotiations until contract closing
  • Document customer interactions and negotiations
  • Demonstrate sales solutions that enhance profitability for Vestas whilst delivering customer benefit.
  • Undertake post-deal analysis and handover to construction
  • Involve relevant business stakeholders according to their process role and influence
  • Break down silos and take cross functional contributions and concerns into consideration in discussions and decision-making.
  • Ensure that colleagues deliver the agreed level of quality, on time, to support sales outcomes.
  • Build industry and customer knowledge from both inside and outside Vestas
  • Conduct all business interactions in a professional, well-organized, results-focused and respectful manner.
  • Full time BE / BTech engineering degree from a reputed institution. A pedigree MBA will be an added advantage
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in sales - business development position
  • Strong analytical skills and self-drive to challenge and improve solutions
  • Outstanding verbal communication skills in local language, good verbal skills in English
  • Well-developed written English skills for providing internal and external proposals and correspondence
  • Excellent interpersonal relationship skills and ability to work in multidisciplinary teams
  • Exposure to the development and/or negotiation of large industrial technology projects
  • Experience of sales-focused or deal-focused business environments
  • Commercial acumen and ability to convert knowledge into business value
  • Confidentiality, honesty and integrity in all interactions
  • Enhanced skills in communication and negotiation
  • Ability to prioritize and deliver results under pressure
  • Further development of leadership skills
  • Deep understanding of energy sector and wind energy positioning
  • Further in-depth understanding of the Vestas Value Chain
  • Understanding of the whole SBU and company business drivers
