The Senior Controls Engineer for a world class engineering team will be responsible for fulfilling Steam Turbine and Integrated Plant controls deliverables for units in the aftermarket with the goal of increasing the competitiveness of the GE Fleet of Combined Cycle Power Plants.

Essential Responsibilities

Through innovation and active partnering with other GE engineering teams and external customers you will have the opportunity to design and implement bottoming cycle control solutions for the steam turbine installed base as well as HRSG (Heat Recovery Steam Generator) / BOP (Balance of Plant) controls for integrated power plant optimization products.

As the SR Control Systems Engineer- Power Plant Optimization, you will:

• Lead and support projects focused on plant wide solutions for combined cycle power plants
• Directly work with internal / external customers and commercial GE entities
• Provide technical guidance and mentoring to early career controls engineers
• Deliver productivity and process improvements that increase the capacity of the PS Controls Projects team
• Develop software and operator graphics for GE Mark V / VI / VIe platforms
• Develop control logic diagrams and operator graphics markups for third party DCS platforms
• Lead Software Acceptance Tests with customers
• Support controls commissioning as required, with occaisional travel


• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical or Nuclear Engineering from an accredited college or university
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in control system design and implementation in the power generation industry related to the Steam Turbine, Balance of Plant and/or HRSGELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS• Ability and willingness to travel as required

• Willingness to be challenged and learn new technologies and skills
• Operations or Plant design experience in Combined Cycle, IGCC, and/or Nuclear power plant
• Experience with modeling and simulation software
• Toolbox / ToolboxST experience
• Passion for continuous learning and applying best practices to achieve practical solutions
