• Lead design activities for wind turbine component gearbox development, including main gearbox, pitch and yaw gearbox
• Deliver gear macro geometry, strength evaluation and tooth modification proposal for gearbox development by using advanced calculation program/software
• Manage product through the life cycle and maintain quality of drawings, BoM and specifications
• Design of gearbox validation tests and implementation data analysis to optimize the gear design
• Develop design and analysis documentation, e.g. specifications, design practices, site work instructions, certification document
• Conduct site failure analysis and develop up-tower retrofit solution
• Optimize gearbox design
• Identify cost saving ideas, drive the production cost reduction initiation and implementation.
• Support sourcing and manufacturing activities related to gear design


• BS+ degree or equivalent working experience in mechanical engineering
• + 3 years' experience in gear design in power generation/heavy machine/vehicle industry
• Solid hands-on experience in gear analysis software, e.g. KISSsoft, Masta, LDP
• Familiar with gear design codes and standards ISO/ DIN/ AGMA
• Knowledge on forging manufacture, heat treatment and gear machining process
• Self-motivated, working independently under high pressure to make delivery within timeline
• Team work, good communication and influencing skills with cross-functional teams
• Fluent English speaking and writing in a global environment
• Frequent domestic short travels applicable
• Knowledge of FMEA, should cost analysis and reliability analysis
• Great team working spirit and good communication / influencing skills.
• Fluent English (written & verbal) for working in a global team. Self-motivated.

Desired Characteristics

• MS+ in Mechanical Engineering
• 6-Sigma GB certified (GE internal)
• Experience in gearbox design for wind industrial application
• Familiar with typical gearbox failure mode.
• Experience in product manufacturing, field failure analysis or application engineering
• Working experience in Multi-national companies
