Internship positions at Jacobs provide college students an opportunity to gain real-world experience in specific area of study. Working in a fast-paced, professional setting provides interns with invaluable experiences applying the knowledge and skills learned through education in a business environment. While working along side and in support of a group of world-class professionals in your chosen field of study.

  • Operates survey equipment (i.e., GPS receivers, Robotic and Conventional Instrumentation).
  • Calculates angles and distances for points to be set; learns basic field calculations and procedures
  • Sees that equipment is safely loaded, unloaded and stored each working day.
  • Prepares supplies needed for a survey job.
  • Makes copies of field notes and reports.
  • Keeps survey vehicles clean and organized and in proper working order.
  • Prepare daily time sheets, data logs, expense reports and field change orders.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Required that candidates must be current enrolled in a higher education program that has an emphasis on surveying
  • Experience using Trimble equipment and software products is preferred
  • Strong analytical, conceptual, communication and organizational skills is required
  • Ability to effectively interface with all levels of personnel and management is required
  • Ability to work and thrive in a team environment is required
  • Strong judgment and problem solving skills is required
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills is required
  • Ability to self-motivate and work productively without supervision is required
  • Must be willing to travel and work in the field as needed
