We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Manufacturing Engineer in our Procurement & Manufacturing department within Supply Chain Management in our Cranberry Township, PA Headquarters location.
  • Provide support to project for product realization through procurement and supplier activities - including interacting with supplier representatives and regulatory agencies
  • Participate in and support Procurement Engineering aspects during marketing phase / bid evaluations.
  • Ensure that a supplier manufacturing facility has all the machines, spare parts, material, components and supplies require to operate. These goods must comply with Westinghouse's quality and standards requirements.
  • Support the project management team to interface with Supplier  Quality support organizations
  • Support the development of project specific procedures and work instructions related to supplier and procurement activities
  • Ensure  flow down of Quality and technical  requirements from  Westinghouse contract through to the supplier
  • Supporting product realization at suppliers, including: Establishing  surveillance plans, as required Establishment of Witness and Hold Points in supplier Quality Plans/Follow-Up Documents Conducting oversight within Procurement Engineering Scope to verify and confirm compliance to contract quality requirements Reviewing supplier documentation for compliance to the technical and quality requirements of the Purchase Order
  • Verifying quality issues / solutions are implemented at suppliers & communicated within the project Supporting the Project Management team with developing solution path for supplier technical or quality issues Lead resolutions/improvement plans for suppliers or supplier quality issues within the project Manage stop work orders at supplier location as requested Review supplier NCRs (DNs) Initiate, lead, and drive effective and timely closure of supplier Corrective Action Requests  incl. SCARs
  • Evaluate new and existing suppliers and subcontractors and support negotiation purchase agreement with them.
  • Supporting Commercial Operations and Legal for Quality/technical bases of supplier claims, as required
  • Conducting product qualification activities on supplier provided components as required. This includes first of a kind development projects as well as existing designs for new suppliers.
  • Support implementation of Value Analysis/Value Engineering, DfA and DfM principles during the design process
  • Perform evaluations of Suppliers and the supply base at the request of Sourcing and Supply Development to include sourcing requirements, manufacturing capability, capacity, and associated risks
  • Create Manufacturing and Process Plan estimates for use in design option selection or validation of cost and schedule

Job Requirements
The successful candidate for this position will posses the following:
  • Technical bachelor's degree required.
  •  1-3 years or quality/manufacturing experience is desired.
  • Experience interfacing with customers, suppliers and internal technical groups.
  • Knowledge of quality assurance standards associated with design, fabrication and construction.
  • Nuclear industry experience preferable.
  • Knowledge of and experience with manufacturing and inspection processes related to Mechanical components.
