Job Overview:

CB&I's Fabrication Services group is currently searching for a qualified Materials Management Coordinator at its Walker, LA location. The Materials Management Coordinator requires an understanding of procurement practices, processes and systems as they relate to project execution. This position is a contract position with an estimated duration of 45 days.

Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:

  • Coordinate and enter material specifications in support of specification engineers
  • Ensure that labor is charged to the correct department
  • Perform Material Requirements planning evaluations based on different supply and demand requirement
  • Understand and review material specifications for evaluating material substitutions to satisfy project needs
  • Plan procurement strategies (domestic vs. international) based on project / shop needs in coordination with Buyers
  • Build Site Work Packages in preparation for forecast runs
  • Support site on allocation and forecasting of piping isometrics, shop fabrication spools, structural mark pieces, tagged valves, pipe supports, etc.
  • Support site on allocation and forecasting of structural steel, rebar, etc.
  • Attend project status meetings and providing information to project as requested
Basic Qualifications:

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office is required and the ability to learn about formulas and macros
  • Associates degree and/ or 3+ years equivalent experience.
  • Ability to direct activates of others
  • Prioritizes and organizes own work to meet agreed upon deadlines
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment where priorities change frequently to meet the business needs
  • Team player who is deadline driven and works well with others
  • Flexible in adjusting work hours to support the business operation
