As SAP Delivery Leader for Gas & Steam Customer Projects Execution within the SAP CoE, you will be responsible for leading the overall build and support deployment of GE Power SAP specific to the project execution as well as customer turnkey solution streams. You will demonstrate clear communication and build strong partnership with business and IT stakeholders within Gas & Steam Power Systems business segments in addition to GE Digital, Shared Services, Power Technology and Finance teams.

Essential Responsibilities

The SAP Delivery Leader will:

  • Partner with COE leaders, teams and business partners to drive delivery of the multi-year Power SAP roadmap, understand inter-dependencies of different business applications and provide pivotal leadership to the overall business stream's program execution
  • Own senior leadership communication on the delivery cadence
  • Define architecture standards and governance on delivery of Power SAP
  • Serve as the industry segment SAP solution architect and as key partner to solving manufacturing fulfillment process challenges in order to streamline and generate productivity aligned to Digital Thread initiatives across GE Power
  • Own the overall delivery/release program budget, build operating mechanisms to drive visibility to program costs and set up controls to drive cost optimization
  • Lead the risk management portfolio of the SAP program within delivery. Drive early visibility to the upper management on key risks. Point owner of the risk register, set up processes to hold the team (business & IT) accountable for driving the risk mitigation plans
  • Manage the MGPP delivery and drive focus towards the critical path items. Define and communicate key delivery milestones and collaborate with the broader team and PMO for tollgate reviews
  • Continuously strengthen own technical expertise. Teach and mentor a team of developers and architects to develop their technical expertise
  • Drive overall coordination for deployment cutover plans in partnership with business deployment leadership engaging multiple teams (outside of SAP CoE) engaged in the release rollout
  • Drive measurable value through business outcomes as part of the overall delivery of the Power SAP
  • Have the ability to understand business requirements & requisite processes to enable translation to software requirements, as well as to demonstrate & influence business partners to leverage industry standard processes & out-of-the-box configuration capabilities in SAP (and necessary bolt-ons) to satisfy business needs.
  • Come up with the governance strategy to manage the acquired results of analysis and workflows as well as obtain sign-off from the appropriate business partners and/or project teams.
  • Perform as Technical leader to come up with a common solution and design for multiple business work streams; proactively wear multiple hats to assist the overall project team as needed during different phases of the program; work across hard line reporting relationships to ensure success of the team.
  • Partner with data conversion team members as necessary, defining requirements and designs for legacy migrations.
  • Manage change requests related to the working project plans daily to meet the agreed deadlines.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to deliver features and major, complex products
  • Own the short-term roadmap for MVPs and quarterly releases
  • Prioritize continuously in accordance with the understanding and validation of customer problems and needs
  • Demonstrate expert level skill in problem decomposition and ability to navigate through ambiguity
  • Engage frequently (80%) with the development team; facilitate discussions, provide clarification, story acceptance and refinement, testing and validation; contributes to design activities and decisions
  • Own and manage the backlog; continuously order and prioritize to ensure that 1-2 sprints/iterations of backlog are always ready
  • Routinely collaborate with UX, Architecture and engineering teams on multiple issues and decisions
  • Partner with the Service Owner to ensure healthy development process


  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Computer Science or in "STEM" Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math)
  • A minimum of 12 years of Technical experience along with established leadership credentials across disciplines and functions within a product OR Master's degree with 8 years of experience OR PhD with 5 years of experience

  • Be regarded as an expert in Agile Methodology; translate unstructured or ambiguous work requests into actionable user stories and work units through problem decomposition and planning
  • Ability to understand end to end solutions extending beyond SAP modules
  • Strong business and systems acumen with clear thinking abilities to drive desired outcomes
  • Strong hands on SAP experience with background in cross functional process design, delivery and change management
  • Deep understanding and working knowledge of SAP Project Systems & Finance in addition to Commercial Project Management domain
  • Experience with a large transformational effort is desired
  • Proven experience in leading global teams and working effectively in a matrix organization model
  • Strong communication skills, ability to develop partnership with cross functional teams and develop an inclusive and collaborative environment
