Position Summary

This role is responsible for monthly invoicing, project set up and closeout, and reviewing monthly expenses as well as gross margin results. Interacts with Project Managers and Project Controls staff daily regardng the financial status of each contract.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Preparation of monthly invoicing
  • Project setup and closeout
  • Day to day liaison with Project Managers and Project Controls staff regarding the financial status of each contract
  • Monitor the revenue generated on projects to make sure that it is accurate.
  • Review monthly gross margin results and understand variances
  • Identify projects at risk and liaise with project staff and management to correctly recognize potential margin impacts
  • Ability to read contracts and monitor projects for compliance
  • Prepare project reconciliation's and analysis for cash, unbilled (WIP), deferred revenue and retention accounts
  • Interface with Clients
  • Ensure appropriate focus is given to AR
  • Audit support, when required
  • Sox compliance

  • A degree in Accounting or Finance required
  • Experience in Project Accounting is preferred
  • A self-starter with a determination to get the job done required
  • Strong customer focus required
  • Strong analytical skills with an ability to interpret, reconcile and report findings on large volumes of data required
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment and meet tight deadlines required
  • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels required
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment required
  • Multi-task oriented with ability to prioritize tasks required
  • Highly organized with an ability to maintain proper records required
  • Strong written and verbal skills required
  • Advanced Excel skills preferred
  • Experience with Oracle preferred
