The Company:
Our Client is a world leading Automotive OEM which is responsible for some of the most iconic 4x4's & Sports Cars produced. Due to the huge demand for current models and substantial investment in future projects there is a requirement for more resources across the business in engineering & manufacturing on a contract basis.

The Role:
Powertrain Analysis Project Lead A vacancy exists for a Powertrain Lead Engineer within the Powertrain analysis team. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring all virtual activities are fully integrated into the design & development process to validate and balance system attribute performance in both concept and delivery programme phases. Covering both major unit and systems/PTSE the candidate will manage the Powertrain Virtual Series process, balancing conflicting requirements across systems, planning and integrating analysis tasks within the wider Powertrain and vehicle teams and managing technical issues to resolution by working effectively within a cross-functional team. The role will include planning, facilitating and monitoring progress of analysis activities, reporting status at all major project milestones at all levels and bring people together to lead issue resolution and resolve attribute conflicts. These activities will span the full design and development lifecycle phases.

1)Proven background in engineering project management and experience in complex task planning and execution of work plans across cross-functional teams, including leading technical issue resolution
2)Excellent presentation and communications skills, ability to clearly explain complex technical issues at all levels within an organisation and a rigorous and disciplined approach to information management
3)Understanding of virtual methods in a project management capacity within a design & development environment to support attribute delivery (e.g. NVH, durability, themofluids), particularly associated with Powertrain system development

Experience Required:
Strong project management and project leadership skills
Experience and knowledge of Powertrain systems design and delivery and of the related attributes and associated cross-attribute challenges in both concept and delivery programme phases
Some knowledge of virtual analysis techniques (e.g. FEA, MBS, CFD, 1D), understanding and interpreting analysis results and application to automotive design development
Understanding of JLR / Ford product development system (e.g. PCDS and Virtual Series)
Experience of project management and task planning in a complex, multi-disciplinary environment

Experience Preferred:
Experience of systems engineering, requirements balancing, managing attribute conflicts and driving complex technical issues to resolution Proven problem solver with good planning skills, logical reasoning and attention to detail Effective team member, highly proactive, self-motivated, demonstrating personal drive and initiative Engineering degree or related discipline. Candidates from other industries may be considered depending on knowledge and experience
