Job Description
The Industries group is a corporate industry strategy and industry solutions delivery organization that provides industry-centric solution direction, content and support to the extended Siemens PLM Software organization.

A solution director with a primary focus on engineering simulation and test is being sought for the Automotive and Transportation industry sector, which includes automotive OEMs, automotive suppliers, trucks, motorcycles and rail.  In addition to the primary focus on the automotive industry, this role will support simulation & test solutions for other Siemens PLM focus industries. This is a senior global individual contributor role responsible for applying deep automotive industry process knowledge to lead and direct teams of technical contributors (presales, services and software developers) to accomplish the following related to simulation and test solutions:

• Understand, document and communicate key industry engineering processes
•Define industry recommended / best practice for enabling processes with Siemens PLM software and partner software applications
•Identify, prioritize and communicate software solution strategies and requirements (gaps) through interaction with internal and external subject matter experts
•Define and communicate software solution business value to external audiences
•Create and/or direct others to create process-centric solution presentations, demonstrations and other materials
•Creating and/or directing others to create solution configuration guides
•Supporting field enablement on Industry trends, processes and solutions
•Support solution sales within key global customers (supporting local account teams in strategic pursuits)
•Lead and manage industry and cross-industry projects to define solutions and create solution materials

This is a global role with primary market emphasis in China, Germany, Japan & US. There is no hard requirement regarding where the person filling this role is located, but someone located in the Detroit area is preferred.

Qualifications for this position include:

•An engineering degree
•Detailed knowledge of engineering analysis and test business processes and discipline specific practices within the automotive industry
•Greater than 10 years of hands on experience performing engineering analysis in the automotive and transportation industry using simulation and test software tools for system, structural, thermal, flow and/or multi-physics analysis (using tools like NASTRAN, ABAQUS, ANSYS, FLUENT, HYPERMESH, STAR-CCM, EFD/FloWorks, LMS tools, NX CAE tools etc.)
•Industry experience with multi-discipline engineering teams providing innovation through coupling of CAD/CAE technologies for product development, design optimization and/or failure analysis
•Experience and knowledge of processes and tools for simulation & test data management.
•Experience providing strategic direction to product engineering organizations in the simulation & test domain.
•Experience with design analysis projects in other focus industries including aerospace & defense, machinery, consumer & industrial electronics, energy & utilities, marine, medical and consumer products is preferred.
•Detailed knowledge of the use of PLM tools / applications within target industries through hands-on practical experience and/or implementation (not necessarily Siemens PLM tools / applications)
•Excellent communications skills (written and verbal)
