Job Description
Position Overview
This individual will support, develop and promote company positions in industry codes and standards activities. Actively participate as a company expert and as an industry expert in the development of product standards and application requirements with North American and International industry standards organizations such as UL, CSA, NEMA, ANSI, NFPA, ANCE, CANENA, and IEC. Actively promote the codes and standards interests of the division and monitor external codes and standards activities that may impact the division's business to assure the interests of the company are protected. Support the SRM (Standards and Regulations Manager) within Siemens GSSM (Global Strategic Standards Management) to promote the company's standards and regulations positions.

• Strategic Standards Management
Manage strategic standards and conformity assessment interests of the company. Monitor trends and actions in standardization issues and develop strategic responses to support and promote the company's codes and standards policies and business strategies.

• Product Certifications (Conformity Assessment)
Support the product certification process and the certification records of the Division. Represent the company with the primary certification organizations, Underwriters Laboratories (UL) and Canadian Standards Association (CSA), and other certification organizations. Actively work with these organizations to develop and interpret certification requirements and resolve compliance issues.

• Product Design and Applications
Provide support and guidance on present and future standards requirements affecting the design, testing, or certifications of Siemens Industry, Inc. products. Provide technical support for engineering and marketing on product applications.

Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience
• 10 + years experience in the application, design, and manufacture of electrical distribution equipment
• Bachelors Degree in Engineering or related field
• Knowledge of the standards, application, design, and manufacturing of Siemens LP products or related products
• Experience working with UL and CSA and other standards organizations
• Typically manages multiple exempt-level employees and/or other managers up to 6 employees
• Demonstrates and applies advanced knowledge of concepts, practices, and procedures for area managed and good knowledge of other areas in the company and how they interact.
• Demonstrates full understanding and application of management approaches for work direction, motivation, and performance management.
• Strong leadership ability
• Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate and direct personnel toward achievement of a common goal.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required to interact with customers, vendors and employees.
• Strong business acumen with the ability to understand and manage the dynamics of a complex organization.
• Ability to work across other disciplines within the company
• Confidentiality - work involves considerable work with representatives from competitors
• 30% domestic travel required
