Designs and implements state of the art mechanical, electrical, & optical measurement sensors.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Develops the method of signal delivery to the data acquisition systems.
  • Prepares and leads design reviews, test readiness reviews, and participates in the engineering tollgate process.
  • Leads the combined test teams in the scoping, test program planning, and test execution to achieve the test program objectives with a focus on gas turbines.
  • Leads and coordinates with design engineering, manufacturing, field services, and customers to ensure tests are planned and executed flawlessly.
  • Responsible for component hardware modifications and integration into the test article assembly process.
  • Designs and operates auxiliaries to provide power, cooling, lubrication, structural, and safety measures for mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Creates and reviews drawings and specifications for the product and measurement system.
  • Develops test product installation and operational procedures across the product line.
  • Procures all necessary equipment, parts, and material and manages the associated suppliers.
  • Ensures that multiple schedules and budgets (in excess of $1MM) are met in support of engineering programs.
  • Develops fabrication quality plans and integrates with manufacturing.
  • Dispositions all nonconforming equipment, parts, and material, during the manufacturing and commissioning phases.
  • Leads cross functional teams of up to 20 engineers, scientists, and specialists.
  • Hands on support in the preparation of test articles and in the execution of the test programs.


  • BS degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Aerospace Engineering, or a related physical science.
  • 5 years of experience in a related field in a test, design, manufacturing, or field engineering role.
  • Willingness to travel globally for up to 1 month if required while working at GE facilities, supplier facilities, or at customer power plants.

Desired Characteristics

  • Working knowledge of engineering software and proficient in the use of PC-based computer software.
  • Excellent engineering technical skills. Proficient in fluid dynamics, heat transfer, mechanics of materials, mechanical measurements, and electrical measurement theory. Background in practical engineering including the use of tools, fabrication equipment, and/or electro-mechanical devices.
  • Proven project management skills with a technical writing and documentation mindset.
  • Ability to lead a diverse team and positively motivate team members.
  • MS in Engineering.
  • BB/GB certified.
  • EEDP graduate
  • Experience in power generating turbines or power plants, jet engines, or other turbo machinery.
  • 5 or more years experience in mechanical/electrical measurement design.
