We currently have an opportunity in our Winnersh, Reading office to join our HR Shared Services team at a time of significant transition and change within both the business and the HR function.

You will work within a team of 7 people (located in 3 offices across the UK) who provide the full range of administrative support to a busy HR function, working closely with the HR Operations Team and reporting to the HR Shared Services Delivery Partner. The Shared Services team's duties encompass but are not limited to:

  • Producing and administering employee correspondence
  • Maintaining the HR database (Oracle) and administering transactions through the system
  • Timely processing of changes to existing employment contracts including promotion/salary changes, flexible working requests, maternity/paternity, secondments, unpaid leave/sabbatical, calculating holiday entitlements, terminations etc
  • Liaising with the Payroll Team and other internal departments in line with HR procedures
  • General administration including filing
  • Producing standard and ad hoc reports
  • First point of contact on general HR enquiries from employees and managers through e-mails and calls
  • Supporting employees and managers at an initial stage on employee relation matters (e.g. family friendly policies, grievance issues)
  • Understanding requirements for escalating issues to the HR Operational Team, ensuring all necessary information is captured
  • Actively supporting the HR team in taking on projects as directed
  • Challenging processes and behaviours to offer recommendations for enhancing efficiency across the HR Delivery Model
  • Responsible for prioritisation and management of a busy workload to tight deadlines

  • Confidence to advise on employee relation issues at an initial stage
  • Previous experience working in a HR environment
  • Basic Knowledge of HR Practices
  • Previous experience working in a HR Shared Service environment
  • Knowledge of Oracle HR
