Assists Construction Manager (CM) and Deputy Construction Manager (DCM) with on-site resolution of technical and construction related issues through direct interface with Contractor, inspectors and designers. This contract involves and requires some knowledge of the installation and testing of railroad and facility systems, including SCADA, fire/life safety and communications systems, control systems, tunnel ventilation equipment, train control and facilities power equipment.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Resolution of construction and technical issues in the field, and through coordination with the designer of record.
  • Preparation, negotiation and processing of contract modifications and changes.
  • Liaises with Safety Manager and Lead Inspector for resolution of safety issues.
  • Coordinates with Lead Inspector to resolve Deficiency Notices and other quality issues.
  • Assists Lead Inspector in maintenance and review of record and as built drawings.
  • Coordinates with Office Engineers regarding documents needed to support construction progress meetings and reports
  • Coordinates with Cost/Schedule Engineers for reporting of construction progress, including cost and schedule status.
  • Assists in review of progress payment requisitions and invoices.
  • Assist with preparation of weekly, monthly and ad hoc technical reports and resolution of claims.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned by the CM.

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent
  • Minimum 8 years relevant experience in construction including construction management and field experience in related systems is required
  • Valid driver's license required
  • P.E., Certified Construction Manager (CCM), or equivalent preferred
  • Experience using Microsoft Office, Expedition or equivalent preferred
  • Logistics, planning, and/or direct construction/engineering experience preferred
