Our E&N business group will be bidding for some of the UK’s largest infrastructure programmes. We are looking for an experienced and proven bid manager to work within the team to lead these exciting pursuits. This is a new role created to ensure success in these major pursuits. The role will report to the Sales Director.
In this position you will work on a variety of business development assignments, ranging from highly strategic, complex proposals to smaller proposals and qualification statements. Responsibilities Plan, lead, and manage the largest, most complex and strategic proposals, interviews and presentations, including facilitating development of sales messages and themes Apply the highest level of professional skills gained through extensive experience on a broad range of proposal and BD efforts With no supervision, co-ordinate, develop content or write and perform research for non-technical and technical proposal sections, Oversee content development for all sections, including technical input, and examine all sections for consistency with win strategy Ensure compliance; proactively identify, communicate, and mitigate potential issues/variances Lead win strategy development process; facilitate and lead kick-off meetings, strategy sessions and other milestone meetings Act as the challenger or healthy sceptic in evaluating data and assumptions Help research and suggest teaming partners/sub-consultants Support the selection of staff proposed for the project and project descriptions Demonstrate fluency in business objectives, priorities, and sales strategy, especially as they relate to the proposal process Advocate for and actively follow CH2M procedures, policies, best practices and brand guidelines Employ and populate IS-related tools and databases, and follow all standard file management procedures Possess thorough knowledge of company markets, clients and industry trends; actively integrate that knowledge in work activities Foster strong, mutually beneficial working relationships across the business Coach mid-level and junior staff, provide broad technical or functional guidance Act as a group resource and trainer Minimum Qualifications
Requirements and experience Bachelor’s Degree, or equivalent experience; a proven background in a similar role, and/or considerable experience at prerequisite level Excellent oral and written English communication skills, and effective listening skills Proven skills in writing, editing and proofreading Extensive experience of managing large, complex proposals, including developing winning proposal themes Formal training in bid management (eg Shipley) Ability to meet deadlines and adapt quickly to changes under extreme pressure; meticulous attention to detail, proven organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently Good interpersonal skills, and willingness to take personal responsibility Self-motivated, proactive team player able to develop strategic solutions Ability to work flexible hours at times to accommodate deadlines Knowledge and understanding of companies similar to CH2M is desirable Certification with Association of Proposal Management Professionals (or similar) is desirable
This role requires minimal to moderate travel and will be based in our Bristol.Preferred Qualifications
