Systems Engineer - Ultra High Vaccum Systems
A specialist instrumentation company, at the fore-front of designing and manufacturing high quality systems for usage across a wide range of scientific applications is seeking a Ultra High Vacuum (UHV) specialist to join their site in Oxfordshire.
The role will include exposure to the Full Life Cycle of the product and you will be involved in dealing directly with customers on entirely bespoke systems. The purpose of the position is to understand the customer needs and to bridge the gap between their requirements, discussing technical solutions, converting them into configurations for the design team and project managing the process.
- You will need to have prior experience in building, maintaining, modifying or adding to a UHV System or MBE Systems.
- A PhD in any subject, science related would be preferable but not essential
- Engineering experience would be desirable
The company design projects range from simple components to ownership of complete systems containing an array of bought in OEM components (Pumps, Valves, Fittings etc) and designer generated parts ranging from multi-port UHV chambers to electro-mechanical assy's measuring less than a few mm in size.
You would also receive the great benefits of 26 days leave + bank holidays, a 37.5hr working week with 1pm finish on Fridays, contributory family healthcare and 4x Life Cover. The salary on offer is flexible above £50,000 for an exceptional candidate but is hugely dependant on skills and experience.
