Job Description
The purpose of the Supervisor, Billing is to provide management oversight and strategic guidance for the billing production group (responsible for customer invoicing) and quality control group (ensure all statements are contractually accurate and SOX compliant). The role requires managing the day-to-day execution of the billing group to support the organizations strategies and objectives. The Billing Supervisor should work towards streamlining current billing processes with an eye towards delivering value-added, cost-saving process improvements. The role requires a focus on delivering exceptional quality and service to internal and external customers by ensuring accuracy and timeliness of invoicing, reporting and responding to customer inquiries.

  • Manage team responsible for customer invoicing functions to meet overall Constellation goals and initiatives. This includes establishing goals and performance objectives for each employee┬┐s development; monitoring their progress, and providing feedback throughout the course of the year.
  • Provide guidance in developing/enhancing current processes in efforts to close gaps, streamline and enhance work flow. Communicate system and regulatory changes impacting billing to Manager and any internal persons impacted by the change. Direct implementation of system changes by working closely with other functional groups and IT to deliver required enhancements or modifications. Provide daily production support thru generation, prioritization and testing of Application Work Requests with internal IT developers. Manage execution of business user testing for system implementations impacting the billing department.
  • Create and review un-billed revenue reports and identify results including any trends to leadership. Interface directly with IT on identifying systematic fixes to increase auto bill functionality by creation and testing of AWRs.
  • Work closely with internal and external audit to ensure billing and adjustment processes meet with SOX requirements and control standards.
  • Provide support for highly sensitive customer escalations.
  • Develop quarterly documentation/training materials and facilitate training on new system functionality and enhancements for billing, data management, and customer care end users. Fully ensure that employees are crossed trained on internal processes to ensure high quality and developmental growth.
  • Review and provide departmental approval for non-standard proposals to ensure the billing team can support requested invoicing needs of the customer. Determine plan for fulfillment to customer on any non-standard requests.


  • Bachelors degree , Business or related discipline, plus five years of work related experience, or equivalent combination of work experience and/or education
  • Must have an excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications, particularly Access and Excel.
