Department Overview

IT Corporate Services Technology organization provides IT support to PG&E's Shared Services, Finance, and HR organizations. We are part of the Business Technology (IT BT) organization partnering with our business clients to deliver outstanding IT support to achieve PG&E's business objectives. We maintain and manage technologies and delivery projects for the Shared Services, Finance, and HR organizations.

Position Summary

The Senior Functional Analyst IT HR Systems, is responsible for the development of IT solutions for PG&E HR systems and is well versed with all phases of the software development life cycle, including business process analysis, systems analysis, business process blueprinting, configuration, development, testing, cut-over preparation, end user training, and go-live activities as well as post go-live system and end user support.

The Senior Functional Analyst will work with the team of functional, technical experts and consultants responsible for developing/enhancing/supporting SAP modules and other applications in the IT HR Systems area. Provides expertise for HR-Learning related applications to assure that best practices are implemented and the modules/applications are efficiently and effectively used to support the business requirements.

The Senior Functional Analyst works with the Manager to build and maintains relationships with the relevant client teams for business requirements, issues resolution and sustained overall customer satisfaction.


• BA/BS degree in Computer Science, Business Administration or related degree or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 5 years of experience as a Functional Analyst with SAP HR-Learning Solution(LSO).
• Ability to translate business requirements into SAP/IT solutions required.
• Experience in designing and configuring SAP HR LSO solutions.
• Experience in SAP HR LSO system integration with 3rd party systems.
• Willingness to work in other SAP HR modules.

• 5+ years of experience in SAP HR-LSO. Should be an expert in LSO portals, Integration of SAP HCM LSO to other HCM modules, SAP LSO WBT, Course catalogue, Course follow-up, Manage Participations and Qualification catalogue. Should also be well versed with PA/OM and ESS/MSS.
• 5+ years of experience in Configuration/Solutions Evaluation/ Validation and Deployment.
• HyperCision's RegLearn product experience/knowledge.
• Extensive participation in ERP projects of high complexity.
• Strong Analytical and Communication skills.
• Proficient in content integration strategies.


• Provide consulting to the client to identify and satisfy the business needs.
• Responsible for the design, configuration, implementation and support of HR-LSO module. Assignment will be a mix of Projects, Enhancements, and Production Support.
• Evaluate and document alternatives that will provide the most effective solutions to business problems.
• Ensures successful implementation of new/enhanced functionality on time, on scope and within budget.
• Collaborates with functional, technical and testing resources in the successful fulfillment of development/enhancement and production support commitments for PG&E LSO functions.
• Comply with SOX and other standard process requirements.
• Able to analyze and design solutions independently.
• Able to work effectively with other groups to persuade, exchange ideas and foster cooperation.
• Demonstrates seasoned, experienced-based judgment in applying and adapting techniques with high credibility of the project team members.
• Participates in project estimates.
• Able to perform peer review of requirements and designs documents.
• Conform to IT methodology Application change and delivery.
