The Simulation & Modeling leader for GE Power Digital Services is responsible for leading our organization in developing high fidelity models of Gas, Steam, Grid and accessory models. They will be responsible for defining "what is good enough" to help guide and predict customers' maintenance schedules and downtime.

Essential Responsibilities

This role will directly or indirectly lead a team of
engineers consisting of SMEs and software developers in building world class
simulation solutions for our customers toughest challenges. This role will

  • Grow, develop and mentor leaders & technologists by
    attracting, training, and motivating top tier technical talent
  • Build & maintain expectations of ownership,
    accountability, customer focus and quality at the individual and team level
  • Foster technical collaboration between business teams at GE
    Corporate Research and other experts across the GE business units
  • Drive / Support technical integration of design engineering
    teams to help build one global Power Digital engineering group
  • Participate in strategic 3 year & short term planning
    for Multi Generation Technology Plans and required resource structure
  • Meet functional budgets, advocating for funding necessary to
    execute on deliverables to create value for our customers
  • Lead the design team to achieve & improve on-time
    execution of the deliverables through process simplification, while ensuring
    conformance to Power's design practices & procedures, assuring product
  • Lead cooperative research programs with universities to
    establish long term-sustained relationships that provide opportunities to
    recruit engineers with software engineering expertise
  • Be responsible for Employee Development & Performance
  • Drive "No excuses" leadership culture with
    integrity and EHS
  • Build and maintain expectations of ownership, customer
    focus, and quality at the individual and team level
  • Own Power Services Digital Twin development


Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelors of Science degree in Electrical or Mechanical
    Engineering or Physics
  • Minimum 10 years engineering experience
  • Minimum 8 years' experience in design and implementation new
  • Minimum 5 year management / leadership experience in a
    matrix structure organization

Eligibility Requirements:
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. We will not sponsor individuals for

  • Must be willing to travel 15-20%
  • Must be willing to work out of an office located in Atlanta,
    GA or San Ramon, CA

Desired Characteristics

  • Proficient with software languages Perl,C/C++, Jave, .NET
  • Working knowledge of Fortran language
  • Advanced degree and/or experience in Physics is a plus
  • Experience in Thermodynamic systems
  • Working Knowledge of Emap, Gatecycle and other modeling
  • Experience with APM & data analytic support systems in
    the rotating equipment space
  • Proven strong interpersonal skills with the ability to
    influence stakeholders at all levels of an organization
  • Proven leadership capabilities with ability to motivate
    others and achieve results within a highly technical environment
  • Demonstrated ability to plan and lead design &
    development projects
  • Proven success embracing and leading change initiatives
