We are currently looking for a Seismic Engineer (Risk Analysis Support) to join the ENERCON Team.

In this role, your Key Responsibilities will be to provide seismic engineering support for probabilistic risk assessment (PRA) of nuclear facilities. Your Key Responsibilities will be to:

• Gather and interpret structural and mechanical aspects of nuclear power plant (NPP) structures, systems, and components (SSCs) that affect seismic risk analyses;
• Participate in seismic walk-downs of nuclear facilities;
• Prepare seismic margin and / or seismic fragility calculations considering failure modes including of anchorage, functionality, and structural integrity;
• Develop finite element structural models, perform time-history seismic analysis, and generate in-structure response spectra.

As a qualified candidate, you will have the above experience and meet the below requirements:

• B.S. degree in civil or mechanical engineering from an accredited university with experience in applying seismic engineering principles to analysis of structures and components, or M.S. degree (or higher) with additional coursework in seismic engineering, especially seismic hazard analysis and ground motion prediction, probabilistic risk analysis, seismic fragility evaluation;
• 8 years of seismic engineering including dynamic design experience;
• Thorough understanding of seismic engineering fundamentals and applications;
• Ability to work with minimal supervision and provide technical guidance to support staff;
• Ability and willingness to apply established technical knowledge to less familiar applications;
• Flexibility to respond and adapt to client and project needs;
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Familiarity with major structural and mechanical systems of NPPs, their seismic design basis, and the impact of seismic response on their safety functions;
• Knowledge of seismic margin methods, including development of "high confidence of low probability of failure" (HCLPF) capacities of NPP SCCs;
• Knowledge of seismic fragility evaluation methods and their application to a seismic PRA;
• Experience with seismic IPEEE and / or USI A-46 nuclear plant programs;
• Qualification as a SQUG Seismic Capability Engineer.
