We are currently looking for a Licensing Consultant t o join the ENERCON Team in our Abu Dhabi, UAE office on contract basis.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to p rovide regulatory/technical problem solving support to engineering, test, and safety analysis organizations to support internal or client nuclear plant operations, design certification work, or design projects within the nuclear and/or environmental field.

In this role, your Key Responsibilities will be to:

  • Provide in-depth regulatory expertise to develop and review documents for submittal and/or presentation to the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC), other regulatory agencies or clients, with accountability for accuracy and completeness of these documents
  • Perform independent research, reviews, studies, and analysis in support of regulatory/technical projects and programs
  • Monitor changing regulatory trends and maintain knowledge of regulatory requirements, guidelines, practices, and industry standards of the nuclear industry
  • Review, edit, and organize documents in the preparation of a large and complex nuclear license application, as well as, smaller technical submittals, topical reports, and white papers
  • Interface with clients on a regular basis and ensure client satisfaction
  • Provide input to project/program work schedule regarding the duration/scope of regulatory issues and the time/scope/effort involved in resolving them in order to implement project

As a qualified candidate, you will have the above experience and meet the below requirements:

  • BS in Engineering
  • 8+ Years of licensing experience in the nuclear industry.
  • Excellent knowledge and understanding of regulations, regulatory agencies, and the regulatory processes supporting design and licensing of nuclear plants including the documentation that support these processes
  • Must possess knowledge and understanding of and nuclear power plant operations
  • Must also be able to represent ENERCON and/or clients at NRC and United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) meetings
  • Must have strong organizational and excellent written and verbal communication skills, with demonstrated competencies in technical writing, facilitation and decision-making
  • Ability to gain and maintain unescorted access at nuclear sites and meet NRC security and client security requirements
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment and random drug and alcohol screenings, ENERCON and client specific background checks, and annual motor vehicle record (MVR) according to company and client policies
  • Ability to work in time constraining regulatory environment while maintaining a quality product
  • Must be able to work productively with other staff, at all levels, in a team environment
  • Project management and/or direct project support depending on the particular assignment
  • Technical proficiency in understanding general engineering, design, and the nuclear industry
