Job Description
Siemens Wind Power (SWP) is a dominant player in the global wind turbine market and maintains its position by offering state-of-the-art products made possible by a team of exceptional employees. SWP is currently seeking highly-talented, motivated, and well organized candidates for a Blade Design Project Manager position at our Boulder Center of Competence to guide the design of the next generation turbine blades project and technology projects.

Responsible for new blade designs at SWP, the Boulder Center of Competence brings together a multi-disciplinary group of engineering experts in aerodynamics, acoustics, structures, loads and controls that work concurrently to solve design and technology problems.

The Blade Design Project Manager will be responsible for the formation, execution and completion of simultaneous R&D projects across global engineering teams.  The person filling this position must be highly motivated and proactive, have excellent communication skills, and must have a strong technical competence.

As a Wind R&D Blade Design Project Manager, your primary tasks will cover:  

- Managing technical R&D projects including:
o Formulating and executing the project plans and timelines
o Establishing and tracking the project budget
o Working with management to secure project resource allocation
o Delivering all necessary project documentation (technical and clerical) to both internal and external customers
o Coordinating all internal and external communication and activities in support of project execution
- Working closely with both the local and global R&D engineering teams to understand the fundamental and technical content.  Must be able to make project technical decisions in collaboration with key experts
- Maintaining close communication with the project management organization at engineering headquarters
- Effective interaction, communication, and collaboration with the design engineers in a global, team-based environment
- Coordinate technical issues across projects.

The Wind R&D Technical Project Manager will be required to possess the following:

- M.S. degree in a relevant engineering field
- Engineering experience in wind turbine blades design and manufacturing
- Project management certification  (PMP certified)
- Over 5 years of professional technical project management experience
- Have cross-disciplinary understanding of the blades design process
- Excellent organizational as well as written and verbal communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills and cultural awareness
- A positive, fun, motivated, proactive, determined and friendly attitude
- Ability and desire to learn and adapt quickly
