Job Description
Project Manager New Construction HVAC Controls Hayward CA


The Project Manager for New Construction on HVAC Controls is responsible for planning, directing, coordinating and budgeting activities and financial reports concerned with the new construction or big retrofit projects. The Project Manager participates in the conceptual development of a project and oversees its organization, scheduling and implementation. Starting pay is $80000 with the potential of a bonus based on performance. We offer 15 days of Paid Time off annually plus 9 company and 1 floating holiday are given annually. This position is also pointed toward growth into a Supervisory role.

While under the supervision of the Operations Manager, the Project Manager must be able to effectively and accurately perform the following duties that include but are not limited to:
- Work with internal and external parties and customer's Superintendents, Foremen and Journeymen to plan, organize and direct activities concerned with assigned projects.
- Establish project objectives, policies, procedures and performance standards within boundaries of company policy and contract specifications. Confer with engineering and specialist's supervisors to discuss such matters as work procedures, scope and scheduling and work sequence, project-specific safety plans, etc.
- Monitor and control project through administrative direction of on-site union personnel to ensure project is completed on schedule and within budget.
- Work with our internal Financial Business Administration (FBA) team to manage financial aspects of contracts to protect company's interest and simultaneously maintain good relationship with the customer.

Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience

- A Minimum of 4 years of Project Management experience in Building Automation Controls or Construction industries with experience managing projects related to Mechanical Retrofits, HVAC controls, BAS management
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Demonstrated strong working knowledge of scheduling software, Microsoft Office (including Access and Excel)and MS Project 2013.
- Demonstrated ability to read and understand construction drawings, especially Mechanical and Electrical.
- Demonstrated knowledge of the appropriate codes and standards which govern design and operating requirements.
- Proven ability to successfully manage assigned projects that meet or exceed project schedule and cost estimate.

Preferred Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience

- Bachelors degree in Project/Construction Management or related field preferred.
- Understanding of Title 24 and other related codes
- Four year technical degree in Mechanical, HVAC or Electronics related studies preferred.
- Must have strong written and verbal skills
